Stupid Gun-Grabbers in Switzerland

Name: Anonymous 2007-03-28 16:47 ID:xNx3ClWS

Switzerland is one of the safest countries in the world in terms of crime.  Switzerland allows its citizens an astonishing degree of personal freedom, at least in terms of the right to keep and bear arms.  It even allows its citizenry to own fully automatic weaponry.

This Swiss tradition kept the Swiss people safe and free, even during WW2 in the face of Hitler.

Unfortunately, the left-wingers in Switzerland are attempting to rescind or restrict these fundamental human rights, despite the enormous benefits their citizens have gained by them.

"There may be various reasons why the Nazis did not invade Switzerland, but one of those reasons is that every Swiss man had a rifle at home. The Nazi invasion plans themselves state that, because of the Swiss gun ownership and shooting skills, that country would be difficult to conquer and occupy. The European countries occupied by the Nazis usually had strict gun controls before the war, and their registration lists facilitated confiscation of firearms and, in many cases, execution of their owners."
The above is an excerpt from this terrific article:

Wtf are you going on about left-wingers for. From your article:

"Recent polls show support for keeping army firearms at home is waning among the public".

"Pacifists and centre:left parties want voters to have the final say on breaking with a long:standing Swiss tradition of storing personal army rifles and pistols at home."

If Switzerland breaks its outdated gun tradition it will be because the people have spoken. Of course the idea of political ideas becoming outdated would be lost on an American, seeing as you still worship a 200-year-old constitution.

My cousin got shot in the eye with a bb-gun about two years ago.  The bb is still lodged inbetween his eyeball and the base of his nose.  Doctors were like, "not uh, I ain't operating on that . . ."

Actually France currently has a conservative government and right-wing hardliner Nicolas Sarkozy is a favorite for the position of President in the upcoming elections. But of course you already knew this. Nah I'm just kidding, you don't know shit about anything.

....so I guess that not only are we going to use the European form of conservative instead of the all-important American one(everyhting revolves around America) and we are also going to ignore the recent massive civil protests for Socialist program implementations in their government.

Go to Hell, Frog-fucker

Do the massive anti-war rallies in the US make the Bush administration anti-war? Stop drinking while posting.

There were protests against the CPE, that doesn't change that the Chirac government is conservative. They have lowered taxes, privatized business and deregulated the market. If you had been paying attention during the Paris riots you would also have noticed that Sarkozy, then Minister of the Interior, received broad support for his aggressive approach (including calling the protesters "scum" and declaring martial law).

The news are with me. "President Jacques Chirac's conservative party, the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP)..." If you think the UMP is socialist you'll "shit bricks" when you hear about the PS.

Maybe you guys should read a book every now and then and not rely entirely on talk shows and cartoons.

if there is a revolution which makes the state communist, and there after the revolution is, say, 2 parties. the conservatives, and the liberals. then the conservatives are the ones who want to stay communist.

The fact that 'the public' supports something doesn't mean it is  a good idea.  'The public' supported the Clinton gun ban, but it wasn't a good idea, didn't reduce crime, and reduced the people's personal freedom.

"If Switzerland breaks its outdated gun tradition it will be because the people have spoken."

Again, the fact that 'the people' decide something doesn't mean it is a 'good' decision.  See above.  The gun ban of the 90's had public support, yet was a total failure, and thankfully got repealed thanks to the efforts of the NRA and other 2nd Amendment advocates.

"Of course the idea of political ideas becoming outdated would be lost on an American, seeing as you still worship a 200-year-old constitution."

The fact that an idea or concept is old does not make it bad.  Constitutional government is a good thing, and has often served to protect the personal freedoms of the american people.  Until the constitution gets repealed or amended, it is thankfully the law.

Don't change these.
