On whiteness

Speaking of white culture, who is included in the seemingly unprecise term "white"? All of Europe? The western parts of Asia?

Within Europe many people are not considered white by other Europeans. Especially Greeks, but also Spaniards, would often not be referred to as "white".

Discuss this in particular or race in general.

Personally i highly doubt that there has ever been anything remotely like a "pure" spaniard or greek since the areas in question has been locis for intense warfare, far sea trading and overall geographical exploration for millenia. Choosing what type of ethnic features are to be pure or non-pure is completely arbitrary.

Very true, "pure" is very hard to find. White skin I guess is the only testament to being white in such regions (or at least a paler completion).

If white skin is the determinant then most germans, french and brits i know dont qualify (the are Caucasian). I guess only scandinavians are true whites, while the rest of the world is populated by mongrels. But scandinavians does not consider lapps to be white, and lapps are related to finns and hungarians so they must be non white also (some believe that they are related to the people who populated the americas, the native americans and they are clearly non white). The US has had so much intermingling that i believe there is not one pure white person left, at least not pure enough for my taste, so please realize that the battle is over and start develop your love for chicken and jazz.

The term white generally refers to the people (and their descendants) of western Europe.  To be specific this includes:
English/Scottish, Irish, French, Germans, Italians, Swiss, Swedish, Austrians, and all of the Nordic peoples.  Spaniards are well...spaniards.  People of Eastern European countries are generally thought of as slovic and emo.

Slavs are white. About 10% - 20% of turks are white. Spaniards and greeks are white.

Jews are not white, neither are most arabs.

I consider people people with blood from these countries white:
* Sweden
* Finland
* Norway
* Denmark
* Switzerland

People living on islands are inbred homos and don't count.  Everyone else is either too mixed or simply not white enough.

People from Switzerland as white as nordic people.
