A populist yet dictatorial Louisiana governor then senator who was shot during his almost total consolidation of power. Parallels to Julius Caesar come to mind. How does my fellow anonymous evaluate him?

I like his no bullshit attitude, he saw what socialism was doing in Germany and other parts of the world and knew that they were full of shit, but his policies were a little dubious.

No, I meant the national socialist workers party of the Weimar Republic of Germany. Don't give me a lecture about how much democracy failed to defend Germany against the versailles treaty and how in the first few years the great depression in Germany ended much quicker than other country's. Just look what happenned. Tyranny always ends in disaster.

What does that have to do with what I said? I was stating that Nazism denied the inherent traits of Socialism (eg common ownership of mean of production, internationalism, etc)

Actually they did believe in all that. It also went the same path as every socialism.

Common ownership of means of production turned out to be a convenient way to derail property rights and quickly became state ownership of means of production.

Internationalism turned out to be popular with neighbouring peaceful democracies and quickly became world war 2.
