Amerikkka is pathetic.

Name: Anonymous 2007-02-23 3:16 ID:9z4cuTus

No really, altho I've never been to Amerikkka, what I've heard is that your all uneducated and fat. I have reliable sources too. You ppl need to get your act's together and pull out of Iraq too. Most amerikkans are not bilangaul but here in Europe most are! Learn to speak other languages. besides a bastardised version of ours! without us youd never of got off the ground. all of the world's acheivments today were from Europe or asianic places. You ppl are pathetic.

I suppose you could be absolutely right. Unfortunately, despite being a fairly attentive geography student, I cannot find this Amerikkka. Is it close to Loompa-Land? How about the mystical realms of Narnia or Asgard?

Seriously though, you have a lot of half truths that have not been investigated yet:

Is America uneducated? To some extent, by and large we know quite a bit, not all of it useful, and frankly we ignore the better part of the world's culture. Sometimes we do that out of not caring, other times we do it because your achievements lately have not been adequate. Take France for example, a rich tapestry of intrigue, advancement and culture. However, they have done little for the world stage in the last 75-150 years.

Should we know other languages? Some of us should, but keep in mind that we're a large country with only two countries beside us, three if you want to count Cuba. In the areas near Mexico, where I am, enough people speak enough Spanish to get by. There is not really much call for anyone in the better part of the U.S. to speak another language, we really don't have a need to speak French or official German.

You are right about the U.S. never getting off the ground without help though. If it wasn't for people being in shitty conditions in their own countries, and leaving their homeland behind to risk coming here for an opportunity for a better life. Or just plain out greed of Europeans to earn gold and glory at the expense of others, this country of mine would just be full of Indians, eagles and corn.

Maybe you've learned something, I certainly hope so.

not a convincing argument at all. typical amerikkkan.

It isn't meant to be convincing. It deserves only as much consideration as the initial statement. The only difference is that I punctuated and decided to have fun. You, on the other hand took it for a serious response and denied it out of hand.

Typical fool.

I would like to see a valid point. Hearsay and rumor do well for making comments, however, merely saying you have reliable sources does not make your statement valid. Furthermore, capitalization generally gives your thoughts a veneer of knowing what you are talking about, in my experience it helps considerably.

For the sake of argument and the sake of ending this succinctly so I can sleep, here goes. America is a much larger and much for diverse place than where you are from, which I must assume is Germany, due to your comment that English is bastardized German. Which it is, English is the bastard child of practically all Western languages.

Some Americans fit your description adequately, most do not. One in four Americans are, if statistics are to be correct, obese; keep in mind though that fast food is far more saturated in America than other countries, therefore we have more food of convenience, and it is higher in calories. Furthermore, we tend to drive everywhere in lieu of walking or biking, so we get less exercise.

As I've mentioned, there is little need to learn a foriegn language for Americans, as the language of business has become English, we do not need to learn anything else. The notion of use it or lose it comes to mind.

Finally, saying that America would not have gotten off the ground without foreign help is fairly obvious, but your point is about 50 or more years too late to matter in the way you want it. Europe filled our population as a whole: England built our industry, France kept us alive against the English, Italy gave us religion, Russia gave us something to work towards, Mexico, China, Ireland and Africa were a wonderful source of cheap labor, Germany and Ukraine gave us some of our better scientists. Now, when you combine these, and other elements together you end up with something equal parts wonderful and horribly flawed. America has grown up far too quickly, and we don't have what most countries would call a proper appreciation of culture. That happens when you're about 1500 years younger than virtually every other culture.

Now, I do not agree with the Iraq situation, and I agree America has reached a stagnation point both socially and internationally. Remember the scope of history though, and the stumbling blocks that other countries have had, eh? Perhaps in 50 years we will have the luxury of noting George W. Bush with Napoleon, Kruzchev, Bismarck, Hirohito, and Nero as warlike leaders who severely besmirched the standing of their country and set them on a path of confusion and rebuilding.

"France kept us alive against the English"
English wisely gave them guns, germs and steel to defend from the savage bloodthirsty soulless indians who outnumberred them and would have sacrificed them on their pyramid altars to their sun "god" if they had the chance. They also gave the good indians weapons so they could scalp the bad indians and help bring civilisation to the land, for which they are thankful.

"Italy gave us religion"
English gave them religion, remember the puritans?

"Russia gave us something to work towards"
Russia diverted resources away from important things like space flight. If we didn't have such a huge military budget we could have diverted resources towards space programs and would have been on the moon much earlier.

"Mexico, China, Ireland and Africa were a wonderful source of cheap labor"
Xenophobe. Refugees* more like. The only reason they leave is because of the oppression and tyranny in their country and the liberty of america. I've seen immigrants cry in joy when giving their citizenship recital, that isn't the sight of someone who has come here purely to abuse our generous welfare system.

"Germany and Ukraine gave us some of our better scientists"
And we provided them with the resources they needed because their countries were so wracked with tyranny. A fair share of them went to England aswell.

"Now, when you combine these, and other elements together you end up with something equal parts wonderful and horribly flawed."
You do not. Culture is just a collection of ideas and it is completely illogical to declare something to be a culture that should never change. America is a battleground for ideas, not cultures. Which brand of toothpaste do you buy? Pepsi or Coke? Chrysler or Ford? Apple or Microsoft? As a result only the best ideas survive, in effect the US is not a culture or even multi-cultural because we inferior elements of cultures get relegated to the history books. Instead of 1500 years of history it has hundrds of "cultures" with 1000s of years of history each. That means the US in your terms in fact has 150000 years of history. We are so rich and powerful not because we invest 20% of our GDP in military, the soviets tried that and failed, but because the US is a SUPER-culture.

"English gave them religion, remember the puritans?"

Which came from Italy, so yes, we obtained religion indirectly. Perhaps you forgot about Martin Luther and other religious revolutionaries in Italy.

No it would have been better if it weren't for the russians. Peopel voted for going to the moon because they thought "hey that sounds cool". More money would go to the moon project if it weren't for the Russia.

Don't change these.
