Lots of cultures do this. Midwestern white culture is no better. I don't see why you should pick on "gangster" culture specifically. In fact, having been exposed to both gangster culture and white culture (being a filipino that grew up in Brooklyn for the first half of my life and then Texas the second half), I saw a lot more respect to elders in Brooklyn than in here with these white kids who think they are fucking invincible. If there was anything to get rid of it's this silly nihilism practiced by all of these American cultures; that is the true cancer that is eating at this country.

You should destroy it because it's mainstream and more damaging then those other subcultures. Being a redneck simply means being a country boy, which isn't really that bad of a thing (although the word itself implies ignorance). A redneck doesn't have to beat a wife as a standard (although a common conception is chew/cigs which isn't illegal). If emos were as big as the black community that would be bad too, although being an emo really can't compare to the fagness that is ghettoness and the hyphy movement.

The difference between the ghetto culture, redneck, emo, and whatever else is that ghetto is the most destructive, largest, and least educated group and its glorified to boot. It doesn't only cover blacks, I remind you, but asian/mex and to a lesser extent whites.

I like to compare cultural music too (ghetto vs everything else) which, this is really up to opinion, but is generally trash compared to any other music (in terms of talent, originality, positive cultural impact, artistic merit) Although it may not be true for all, most people I have talked to agree that hiphop/rap is mostly trash (although there are a few good songs) and it's filthy trash to boot. It's fine to listen to filthy trash privately but it's made mainstream and just poorly censored.

Most people are far more influenced by the people who they grow up around, and even then, people are always in control of their own destinies, so getting rid of a culture, or downplaying its high status in the media will not achieve any sort of effect.
