Prostitution should be legal.

Prostitution could be regulated, taxed, and controlled better if it was to be legalized. The government could gain a substantial amount of money from taxing prostitution, help cut down on rape/violence involving prostitutes, and reduce the number of hookers with STDs. Usually, a prostitute's mistress's word is law to them, meaning all sorts of things. If the government ran whore houses instead of lowlife dominatrixes, then prostitutes (and their customers) would be much better off. Some mistresses force their girls to fuck customers raw, increasing the risk of getting an STD or even becoming pregnant, which can negatively affect many more people. There's nothing that can be done about this since it is a shady and illegal business right now.

Prostitution may not be pathetic, but at least we can try to profit off of it. Right?

There are a thousand reasons.  Here are a few:

Because sometimes some guys get tired of having to please a woman.  When you pay a woman for sex, there's no obligation to please her.  You don't have to worry about whether or not she comes.

Because some fat old ugly guys get tired of their fat old ugly wives, and want to bang something young and slim once in a while.

Because some guys who get married and have kids start to associate their wives with all the mindset and chores of raising children.  Even if she's still hot, it's difficult to get it up for a woman when, looking at her, all you can think of is changing diapers, PTA meetings, flu shots, etc.

Because some guys just feel like it's wrong to fuck a woman who's raising his kids.  There's a quote from some movie: "That's the same mouth she kisses the children goodnight with!"

Because some guys get a sexual thrill from breaking the law.  BTW my theory is that, if prostitution is legalized, this group   will seek unregulated brothels.

Because some guys get married purely for economic and social reasons, to women they don't really like/love/find attractive.

Because some guys want to have a certain kind of sex that their wives/girlfriends don't like:  Bondage, costumes, roleplay, etc.

And the list goes on.  And on.
