Racial Pride: What does newpol think?

I see plenty of people proclaiming they are proud to be asian, or proud to be black, and a few claiming they are proud to be white.

Is there any reason to be proud of your race? What is it?

Is that racist?

Is it racist to have pride in being 'azn'?

Is it racist to have pride in being white?

Is it racist to have pride in being black?

Why does society vigorously attack those who proclaim pride in being white, while supporting those who proclaim pride in being black?

If it is 'ok' or 'acceptable' to have pride in being black, why is it not 'ok' or 'acceptable' to have pride in being white? Is this logical and or consistent?

I think racial pride is illogical, whether you are black, asian or white.

I think black pride is fine, but all other racial pride is bad. I'm black by the way.

If pride in race is acceptable, it should be acceptable for everyone regardless of race.  If it is unacceptable, it should be unacceptable for everyone regardless of race.

I don't think black pride is fine. I think it's pretty fucking stupid. The statements I make on this board aren't out of racial pride, they are from a humanistic stance- my loyality is to the general commonwealth and the empowerment of that commonwealth. Period. If you believe otherwise, you just haven't been paying attention or you're too busy using strawman arguments to prop up your outdated polarizing worldview. Plus, I don't nessacarily think any one race has been solely responsible for any one thing to really be proud of. Plus, it's just flat out illogical to have any pride in something you had no control over. There's no way around it: Pride in your race = something you had and have no part in, and that = ILLOGICAL

The whole reason I made this thread was to point out the idiocy of society in how it demonizes those who proclaim pride in being white while simultaneously encouraging black pride. 

Racial pride in general is not only illogical, it is racist and only serves to further segregate society.

being proud of your race is implying that there is something that separates your race from others. that is racism, all it is doing is widening the divide between races. there is one race, the human race, because you have one altered gene that determines skin pigmentation out of tens of thousands means absolutely nothing. im not proud to be white, i am proud to be human (at least sometimes...). this is the problem with all pride, racial pride, gay pride, feminazi pride, you are creating differences when you should be focused on how we are all pretty much the same.

Racial pride is like hair color pride or lenght pride. Being proud over something you have had no control over what so ever is just silly. You go around announcing Earth pride too?

Racial pride also mostly means cultural pride. Which people focus on skin color because that has been a distinctive trait of certain cultures for centuries. Even though we are bordering each other in terms of interaction now. It will still take a little time before we begin to understand what we were refering to was culture and not race.

Sure, racial pride is illogical, but most people with pride like don't have much else to be proud of.

People who are pride of their race usually have empty lives overall, but I do think it's a bit bizarre that black pride is widely considered positive (or at least socially accepted), and white pride isn't.
