So, the Democratic party wants a Draft, in 2009....
And they want a "trial run".
This rises many questions out of me
Why 2009?We have all names available for the draft
Why a trial run? How do you trial run a draft?
It seems no one really wants the draft, and it just makes the war more unpopular, so why?
Is it to compare Vietnam to Iraq and make Republicans more unpopular?
So, /pol/, whats the real point to the draft?

"Is it to compare Vietnam to Iraq and make Republicans more unpopular?"
If the democrats institute the draft, I don't think people would give a shit who started the war, they would give a shit who started the draft. On the other hand, if the democrats bring a draft into place and we get high enough troop levels to win the war hands down with ease and come home in victory, the democrats would then likely come out on top popularitywise.

this confuses me even more...
Are Democrats hypocrites?
I thought they were against the war, not for it

"I thought they were against the war, not for it "
Oh, they're not against fighting wars. Just against wining them.

What's your source on this?
As far as I know both democrats and republicans and all military generals are against the draft.

They're just attention whores. They don't really intend to start a draft, they just saying it to get your attention. When they get asked about the draft they'll just say a little something about it and then go on to talk about the issue they're really concerned with, raping you for all your money and giving to crack whores with 21 children.
