war on drugs

bullshit. we pour billions of dollars into the so-called war on drugs, but what does it do? it throws the users in jail. that does nothing to stop the drugs. it would take a dealer something like 40oz of blow to get a sentence equal to the user who gets caught with any of it. the "war" targets the wrong people. why not stop pouring money into jailing users and start putting it into rehabilitating them. set up some needle exchanges and safe injection sites. legalize marijuana, it's not fucking dangerous.

the only reason weed's illegal anyway is because in the '30s the government wanted a reason to kick out mexicans who came here with it for their religions. so they lied about it to make it illegal so they could deport them.

fuck the war on drugs. jailing users does nothing except waste money.

Seriously? I had no idea that was why they made pot illegal in the first place.  I can't really say I'm surprised though, the govt. makes a lot of stupid laws because of shit reasons like that.  I heard they passed some law that regulates how many people can live in 1 house at a time or something, supposedly because a bunch of mexicans move up here, buy a house and all share it or something? Its pretty stupid shit.

Don't tell 4chan, buddy, we all agree. Weed is less harmful than tobacco and alcohol, and it being illegal causes the gov't (and, therefore, taxpayers) tons of money, fills up prisons, causes tons of violence from drug deals, and wastes our law enforcement's time. This is a one-sided issue, the only reason people are against weed is because of popular perception, and from bullshit propaganda programs like DARE. Unfortunately, to politicians, perception is everything. Look at what they did to Nader in '00 when he advocated legalizing marijuana. They destroyed his image.

Bottom line is, popular perception needs to change, now.

Look up "Dupont"; they are actually the reason weed is illegal. And is another example of mixed economy failure; curruption ftw

The world is slowly catching on that weed is ok. It has been decriminalized in parts of the US, see: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fd/World-cannabis-laws.png

So live in a blue region, and vote to legalize!
"In the November 7, 2006 election, voters in Colorado, Nevada and South Dakota rejected propositions that would have legalized possession of up to one ounce of marijuana"

Shit sucks, I was shocked it didn't pass in Nevada.

"Shit sucks, I was shocked it didn't pass in Nevada."

Yeah :/  It'll probly happen eventually though... at least in Nevada.

The war on drugs is a joke. The only people getting punished are the users, not the suppliers. Who they can easily punish if they tried.

Don't change these.
