How dangerous is driving while high? A lot of people cite this as a reason to keep weed illegal, but I have also heard people say they do it regularly and it is not a problem.

I drive high and I'm fine. Driving high is infinitely safer that driving drunk, but I admit it isn't that great of an idea.

Don't drive when you are high or you run over children and that's evil.

In general you dont wanna drive while under the influence of anything, weed or alcohol or otherwise. the difference between weed and alcohol is that with weed, though your responce time is lowered, you're usually aware of it and you end up driving more cautiously. On the other hand, Alcohol's effect on your mind is empowering, making you think you're good to drive when infact you're not. Both drugs impare your ability to drive normally, but only alcohol convinces you you're ok to drive when you're not.
Saying weed should be illegal because it's dangerous to drive while high is dumb, because it's some how not taken into account beer will do this just the same and it's legal to drink all over. I think both drugs should be consumed in private places, and away from heavy machinery, and that a person caught driving high should be cited as much as if driving drunk.

I'd place it one notch below driving while dialing your cellphone, yeah.
OP-
1: Driving while under the influence of marijuana is more dangerous than driving sober.
2: Driving while under the influence of marijuana is far less dangerous than driving drunk.
3: The only way marijuana could conceivably be legalized is under the assumption that it will be illegal to drive under its influence--fine by me.
I agree. I enjoy weed myself, but if it is made legal it should be illegal to drive high. The only problem is that there is no way to tell "how high" someone is.
Perhaps there should just be a "no burning marijuana" law, kind of like the no open container law.
But, pot won't ever be legalized because it can't be regulated. It is far to easy to grow at home, so the US federal government can't tax it and get a cut.

Driving stoned is possible but its dangerous. Its about as bad as driving while distracted. Ie talking to someone, eating or reading a book.

you can grow tobacco plants at home as well, doesn't mean people make their own cigars.

Yeah, legalize marijuana, but make driving while high on pot illegal. Sounds fine to me.
>>9 It is quite a bit harder and more time consuming to raise tobacco. Pot can be grown easily.

Sure, pot's easy to grow. However, a large corporation producing pot would make it for less than the cost of tea. So, >>7, regulation in the sense of taxability is not a concern for legalization. People will buy plenty of taxable pot.
