Corporal punishment

So like there's some uproar in mah country over parental abuse etc. Thing is some people claim that violence (punishment) should never be used on a child, no matter what. They say it has detrimental effects on psychology etc. Personally I think that sometimes corporal punishment is necessary.
Wut does /newpol/ think (if indeed u think)?

i don't believe it benefits anything, as with animals you get the best results without heavy corporal punishment, though it's more difficult.
