Lately, all the political focus for the presidential nominations in 08 has been on McCain, Hillary, and Obama. What about those candidates that really aren't getting the attention?
Seems like Bill Ruchardson knows what he's doing.

In 1995, he travelled to Baghdad to negotiate with Hussein to secure the release of 2 americans.

In 1997, he was appointed the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and in 1998 was named the Secretary of Energy.

Right now he's up for re-election for his 2nd term as the govenor of New Mexico. He has had experience in government for a while and is considering running for president in 08.

Issue Positions (based on what he voted on passed issues) -
Pro-choice
Pro-death penalty
Anti-drug legalization
Wants to put more money into education (increase lottery for college students, pay teachers more, etc)
Pro-alternative Energy
Pro-environment (more state parks, better water system, etc)
Pro-socialized health-care
Pro-tax cut
Neutral on Affirmative Action (no votes on which to base the response)
Neutral on Gun Control (no votes on which to base the response)
Neutral on illegal immigration (no votes on which to base the response)
Supports the expansion of Free Trade (no votes on which to base the response)
Neutral on Patriot Act (no votes on which to base the response)

What do you guys think?

>>18 Tax cuts are always the way to go if not mixed with increased spending - at which point things can go bazookas. Also, a single-payer system for health-care is looking better and better for you, despite Mark Steyn's endless attempts to flog his homeland (Canada) for having a moribund health system.
