Why is the majority of Iran Shia?

I don't understand, was Iran Shia due to the overthrowing of Saddam, or was this something that happened way back when due to some other event?

Iran is shia because the Ayatolla was able to take control during the overthrow of the Sha.  They rallied a group of people to overthrow the American Embassy, we got pissed off and set Saddam up to fuck them up.  Saddam fell, Shia came out of the woodworks from whence they were hiding, now this.  Also we forgot Poland.

I pretended to be a muslim once and I specially prepared some trousers that fell off my ass once I did that bend ove prayer thing. So I went in to prayer and had some philosophical chats with some of the muslims, they were all very flaterred that a white male had become a muslim. Come prayer time I made sure the imam who initiated me was behind me. The prayer lasted 5 minutes, everything worked to plan, I even angled myself down so my ass was right up against the imam's face and lightly brushed against it every time I did one of those bows. After the prayer I didn't say a word, but the imam caught up with me and questionned me. My excuse was that allah cares not for bare asses, a bare ass is 0 compared to the infinity of heaven and not something to interfere with my prayers to allah. He agreed, but I failed to persuade him to get other muslims to do the same.

Iran was predominently Shia before the Shah or Ayatollah Khomeini.Saddam was in power long before the American counsulate was taken hostage. Quit trying to rewrite history or at least stick to history outside of living memory.
