Why is the majority of Iran Shia?

I don't understand, was Iran Shia due to the overthrowing of Saddam, or was this something that happened way back when due to some other event?

They're making up excuses to make it seem as though they are offended by something. Be more intolerant of Islam to show you don't give a fuck and their contradictory religion doesn't do any good.
