People don't like Presidente Becinte Bush, not because of the war, gas prices, etc.. (some of the other minor infractions that the republicans want you to concentrate on) but on the
"ILLEGAL ALIEN AND AMNESTY FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO HARM AMERICA".
11 members of my ex republican family since WWII, are now Independents.
No more North American Union (NAU), no more of having Mexicos main Transportation office in Oklahoma (spp.gov), no more One World Order and Government, no more selling out Americas constitution, its laws, and its soveriengty as a whole.
So for us 11 ex-republicans ( 4 military associated, vietnam, WWII, and present wars), we are tired of his and his cronies's, "bullsh-t".
You may be sheeps without a brain to think with, but there "ARE" some out here that aren't going to play that political party game anymore.
Besides, if Illegals are hear to do the work that Americans won't do. Then what is going to happen when Bush and his cornies give amnesty to close to 100 million (by 2050) Illegal aliens?
Who then are they going to bring in, considering that those criminals that Bush wants amnesty for, will now be Americans, who as Bush claims, won't do the work in this country?

what we should really be asking is why both parties are stupid

Republicans are stupid because they think War is Peace, Freedom is Security, and Nationalism is Strength.
Belief in sky faries plays a part in that too.
And they tend to be racists.
Put them all together and mix with a little redneck and you've got your average Republican voter.
"2. The belief that nations will benefit from acting independently rather than collectively, emphasizing national rather than international goals.
3. Aspirations for national independence in a country under foreign domination." http://www.thefreedictionary.com/dict.asp?Word=nationalism
A lot of supporters of the Bill of Rights are at least somewhat nationalist, especially in light of the U.N. moving to curtail the 2nd amendment rights of the world's citizens. Opponents of the Bill of Rights tend to support the U.N. and its internationalist bullshit that moves in the direction of nullifying the constitution.

Nationalism is collectivism. Collectivism is idiocy. Idiocy is wrong. Therefore nationalism is wrong. So it's not true to say "Nothing wrong with American Nationalism."
RKBA nationalists are right on the RKBA, wrong on the nationalism.
Exactly, Collectivism in the supposed name of independence is still collectivism and therefore not "independent", not "free" and WRONG.

The utility of nationalism depends on what that nation stands for. Supporting nationalism for the sake of it being your nation should not be the base of our beliefs.

By own experience I can say that right-winged people are very often short sighted and egocentric.
Nations don't stand for anything. They just pretend to. Whatever principles they claim to stand for, they invariably violate them routinely and with the popular support of the people.
Does America stand for freedom? No.
Is the UK an ally of the US in spreading freedom? No.
Did Russia stand for the proletariat? No.
Did Nazis stand for Nationalist socialism? Yes.
Nations can only stand for nationalistic principles and be consistent about it.

Nazis did a good job of that because if you didn't like them, they would kill you.

The current Republicans find the Republican Party appealing due to its image of being a "family values" oriented party which will legislate in an effort to preserve the values that many consider to be characteristic of "white middle America" and much of the old agrarian south (think "Little House on the Prarie" and add racism and homophobia to the mix). I'm not going to get into whether or not they actually stand for such, that's up to you and whether or not you've been living under a rock for the past couple years.
Anyways, individuals drawn to the Republican Party often hold some form of predjudices or anger towards other races/religions/beliefs/etc. Much of the time it's based on a very real aspect of human nature; in particular ones need to blame someone else for their shortcomings. Since they often scapegoat ethnic groups, religious groups, homosexuals, and others, often these prejudices are what most people would consider to be politically incorrect.
The Republican Party allows them to practice these beliefs and predjudices openly with the confidence one gets from being in a collective group, where they won't be ridiculed or opposed in their beliefs, and instead, will be supported, and get a sense of satisfaction in the belief that they are helping to further a party who will uphold the values of "white middle America."
Others who are often looked down upon in society (ie. pedophiles, other forms of sexual deviants, and such) are also attracted to the modern day Republican Party, mostly due to their image, which would act as cover for their dealings.
This does not include "fiscal conservatives," many of which are not members of the Republican Party anymore, assuming they still exist as a prominent force in mainstream politics.

Sexual Deviants like Republicans because Democrats got this "Be tolerant of all groups, Use Free Speech and your Rights, as long as it doesn't effect our children"
Just look at Hillary Clinton

"Nationalism is collectivism. Collectivism is idiocy. Idiocy is wrong. Therefore nationalism is wrong. So it's not true to say "Nothing wrong with American Nationalism."
RKBA nationalists are right on the RKBA, wrong on the nationalism."
I don't think it is necessarilly collectivism. There are many definitions of nationalism.
Are you pro-internationalism/globalism or something? I'm not so much a 'nationalist' in that I support everything 'the nation' does, I'm just a 'nationalist' in that I fucking hate when the U.N. starts telling Americans that we aren't entitled to our nation's bill of rights, that they have the right to impose taxes on us, or some other horse shit. I guess my point is that I'm not so much a 'nationalist' as that I am against the U.N. trying to dictate what goes on in the USA and other countries, generally... especially when they start whining about our 2nd amendment.
Nationalism is geographically limited collectivism which treats geographic collectives as if they were individuals.
Any idea which emphasizes groups of people acting (no matter if you call that group a "State", "Nation", "Church", "Race", "Sex", "Class", or whatever) without reguard to the indidivuals involved in the group is collectivist. Any idea which emphasizes that individuals are individuals with rights irrelevant of membership in any group is individualist.
If anyone is trying to violate the RKBA I'm opposed to it. If anyone is supporting the RKBA I'm supportive of it. I'll support the actions of a government I am opposed to if that government's actions are toward the end of preserving the RKBA. Outside the scope of those actions, I'll be opposed to that government.
I'm anti-collectivism. Internationalism is collectivism. Globalism could be interpreted as collectivist too, but also as individualist in that it ignores governments in favor of individuals. So it depends what you mean by globalism.
Also, just look at your language. It's being collectivistic.
"I fucking hate when the UN starts telling Americans that WE*** aren't entitled to OUR*** nation's bill of rights..."
I'm not a member of this "WE" Americans until you define it. Plus, 'our' government doesn't like the idea of 'americans' being entitled to a bill of rights, which is why they pass stuff like the military commissions act. Also, it's not "OUR" nation. It corresponds to us only because it incessantly harasses us, but we have absolutely no property right in that nation. Unless you have come into possession of the US Government recently, it's wrong to call it 'our' government as opposed to 'the' government. Calling it 'your' or 'our' or 'my' government is a verbal trick that makes the otherwise overtly criminal actions of government seem rightful and just. So please knock it off with the collectivist language.

It is deeply ironic that a "family value"-oriented party so loves military action.

Nice rebuttal, you’re the reason republicans get votes in the first place. Nice work attempting to refute incompetence with more incompetence, any republican sophist will tear your statement to shreds. I hate conservatives and its retards like this that keep them in power, when faced with the option of two incompetent parties can we blame people for choosing the one that lowers (or attempts) taxes? If you dolts actually learned how to put together a coherent argument instead of "OMG BUSH NAZI" "MARK FOLEY LOL LITTLE BOYS DUUURRRRR" maybe logic would prevail.
Most republicans I talk to and questions only sight liberal incompetence to justify the stances they take, and your kind keep fueling it. Extreme emotion and logical fallacies are the norm in political discourse these days and both parties will always justify one with sighting of the other. Sift past the aesthetic packaging hiding the true issues of worth and begin a rebuttal there, don’t apply more glitter and ribbons to the shit present your pushing.

actually, I don't go shouting out about Mark Foley, but in my opinion, that ended the republican's chances of kepping congress. We are in a war we shouldn't be in. We should be going after Osama, but Bush is too much of an idiot to know that. we had him at Tora Bora.

Did you actually read the rest of the post that you got that quote from. It states that the Republican Party appeals to its constituents with the "family values" image. As you so obviously stated (I thought those cases you stated were pretty much implied in the post you referenced, assuming you haven't been living under a rock, in a trailer, or amongst Republicans for the last couple years), they don't actually back up this image with corresponding actions.
It's obvious to most people that the Republicans don't practice what they preach, yet they still manage to dupe people into believing that they are the "values" party.

I'm not a big fan of the Dems in power, but they are sure as hell better than these regressive fundamentalist christian neo-cons. I was watching the news today and it seems the dems agenda is looking pretty good. They are going to push for another stem cell bill to get through, which I'm sure our dear leader will veto, but maybe this time they can muster up the last few votes to get a 2/3s and override his ass. If they can do that then they are already better than the old congress.
