MAKING ABORTION ILLEGAL WILL NOT WORK

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-07 3:52

Aborting a child through manual means or causing miscarriage is not a big deal.  It will be just like the drug laws.  Totally ineffective.  So stop arguing.

>>1 Exactly, there will just be a black market, and people like me will obscure it, aid it and protect it against the crusaders.

Except the drug laws are immoral, abortion laws aren't.  I can guarantee the number of immoral late-term abortions will go down if the laws I advocate are passed.  If necessary, toughen up the penalties for the offense.  People will stop doing it if it gets too risky to try.

Late-term abortions account for 1% of total abortions in the US and are done under medicial circumstances. There's nothing to gripe about except for the imaginary immoral late-term abortions that occur in your minds. Now let's let this thread die so we can keep to one thread.

"Late-term abortions account for 1% of total abortions in the US and are done under medicial circumstances."

When you assign that '1%' figure to it, it seems so small.  In reality, there are, according to your own statistics, 15,500 of these occurring per year.  Clearly, laws need tightening.

"There's nothing to gripe about except for the imaginary immoral late-term abortions that occur in your minds."

15,500 occurrances per year doesn't sound very 'imaginary'.

"Now let's let this thread die so we can keep to one thread."

Far as I know, nobody put a gun to your head and told you to continue arguing.  If you want it to die, stop arguing, simple as that.

Fuck fetuses.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-07 13:40

history has told us that prohibition is a joke. abortions will never become illegal, just far more dangerous to preform.

Fuck you.

Nobody is talking about an absolute ban of all abortions.  Anyhow, women dislike taking risky and illegal behaviours moreso than men, and I think it is likely the number of illegal abortions would go down with the passing of a few well engineered laws.

"When you assign that '1%' figure to it, it seems so small.  In reality, there are, according to your own statistics, 15,500 of these occurring per year.  Clearly, laws need tightening." - Why tighten laws to hinder what is done out of medical cause?
"15,500 occurrances per year doesn't sound very 'imaginary'." - The immoral ones are what I said was imaginary. Those occurences are done out of medical reason. It's a small number compared to the number of fertile women in America and the number of abortions in America.
"Far as I know, nobody put a gun to your head and told you to continue arguing." - Maybe there is and maybe there isn't, this is the Internet, you can't see me.
"If you want it to die, stop arguing, simple as that." - Yes mommy. :D

Making murder illegal didn't stop murder either, but that doesn't mean a woman 7 months through pregnancy has the right to say "I dont want this baby anymore, i cant be botherred".

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-07 13:52

Oh and most of the pro-abortionists are like those Khmer rouge marxists who would thought nothing of blowing a baby's brains out.

This is important.

Name: Kumori 2006-09-07 13:57

>>12 Baseless conjecture. I have yet to find anything about a woman doing that.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-07 14:00

Exactly.  I wholeheartedly second this and agree.

>>11
"- Why tighten laws to hinder what is done out of medical cause?"

Not all of that sum are due to legitimate medical reasons.

"- The immoral ones are what I said was imaginary. Those occurences are done out of medical reason."

Not all.

"It's a small number compared to the number of fertile women in America and the number of abortions in America."

That makes it 'small' relative to another number - it does not make it 'small' in and of itself.  It is easilly large enough to warrant legislative action.

>>13 It's not important since you're just using a similie, and utilizing something that doesn't apply to the US.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-07 14:02

If it improved the life of the woman, I wouldn't be surprised if you WOULD blow the babies' brains out.

They do it in Cuba all the time.

Name: Kumori 2006-09-07 14:16

>>17 Huh? Last time I checked, a fetus isn't a baby.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-07 14:17

>>20
Depends on how late in development it is.

Name: Anonymous 2006-09-07 14:31

>>21 imho i would consider a fetus a baby at 9 months or three weeks before birth. since the brain is still pretty much nonexistant at 8 months and before.

>>23 They don't say that a fetus is a baby. A fetus isn't a baby, you don't see babies already birthed shoved back into their mother's wombs afterwards. Fetuses and babies are different physically. No one calls their already birthed babies fetuses, that's just insultive. "Hey there my wittle fetus would you like green bean Gurber today? :)" No, you don't.

Abortion FTW, fucking babied need to die more.

Name: Xel 2006-09-07 16:40

"Typical socialists.  No wonder Xel thinks like he does." Yawn. You can assess the value of a human by the quality of her critics. Are you trying to make me look good?

Don't change these.
