The irregularities in certain communities in rural Florida that many democrats speak of are hyped up to say the least.  These said irregularities are easilly explained away by looking at past voter trends.. see article.

The moral of the story? Both parties cheat.  The democrats do it too, and often do it more.

That doesn't mean that Blackwell is off the hook. 250000 votes are 250000 votes. The only reason I would aside with the dems over the reps if I *had* to is not because of some perceived notion that their philosophical/ethical/constitutional repulsiveness and ineptitude is less, but because I believe that they cause slightly less damage, ineconomical/social/cultural/other parameters. This is only because of my cognitive bias, so don't come screaming about how the 2nd amendment is the most important or affirmative action. I am a libertarian who wants to transform the American left, because I beleive that the causes of their self-deception and biases (simply a lack of rationality and self-scrutiny) are easier to overcome than those of the right. I have to try, y'know?

The way to transform a party is to not vote for them.  If they are getting elected often or consistently, they obviously won't change.  I'd like to see the left transformed too, but they won't change unless I vote for someone other than them, so they realize they will need to change if they want my vote.

>>7 exactly, you aren't going to change the democrats by voting for them.  making a protest vote for a different party the next election is the way to go.  I recommend the libertarian party.
