Might Makes Right

Name: Anonymous 2006-08-22 21:32

This is the underlying principle of the world.  Whether it be a moncarchy, republic, democracy, fascism, communism, or any other -ism, all forms of government rely on this precept for its source of power and existence.

That being so, what makes one form of might more legitimate than another?  Or are they all equal?

Completely disagree that might makes right.  There is an innate truth, beauty, and .....right.....  in the universe.  Might currently is based primarily on money in the realm of political, social, and economic control of nations.

That can be changed.  In fact it is long overdue for change.  Some people recognized as long ago as the 1960's the inherent conflict between money and technology.  (Gerard Piel, former editor of "Scientific American" magazine being one of them)

The inherent conflict -CATCH-22-Technology is capable of creating abundance/Money is based on scarcity.  Ever since the Great Depression; overabundant production of food; paying farmers not to grow food - when the world 1st ran into that conflict/catch-22 we have lived within a system of, more or less, "balanced" artifically created scarcities.

So, why can't humans all over the planet have all the necessities of life, and even many niceties - in abundance?  Because we have money.  Money was invented during scarcity.  Money doesn't work without scarcity.

Obvious solution - INVENT NEW ABUNDANCE BASED ECONOMICS/MONEY.
(a not so easy job to either invent or implement).

Encouraging development:  Zero Point Energy which can tap into a limitless supply of the electrical energy inherent at every point in the univers.
