Liberals

I don’t like liberals. But I don’t like conservatives either. The lot of you are proof that God doesn’t interfere in human affairs anymore, and anyone who claims ’he’ does is insane. I hope that everyone- looney leftist and retarded righty alike- someday learns that you have to be MODERATE, that going too far to either side is only going to create more turmoil, and make even more people hate the US. I’ll pray for you, for what little it’s worth.

In other words, don`t have an opinion.  Just go along with whatever >>1 says to do.  `k?

You are a dumbass.  So you like moderation?  Ok, so we should have a 'moderate' amount of freedom, a 'moderate' amount of security, a 'moderate' amount of prosperity, a 'moderate' amount of fascism, a 'moderate' amount of socialism, a 'moderate' amount of capitalism, a 'moderate' amount of gun control, a 'moderate' amount of gun rights, and a 'moderate' respect for life?

Why the fuck would you argue for moderation?  If something is right, and makes sense, you support it.  Moderation is stupid.  You should support ideas and things based on whether or not they are good ideas, not based on whether or not they are moderate.

You are a dumbass.  It is extermists who take extreme positions on things that fuck up shit for everyone.  In a moderate position, people on BOTH sides can have what they want to a certain extent.

Arguing for moderation is good.  People on both extremes can get 80% of what they want if it is done properly.

Good on some things yeah, but IMO constitutional rights are inarguable and all unconstitutional laws should be repealed immediatly.

No it isn't.  So the founding fathers fucked shit up for everyone?

Moderation is stupid.  Some things are good, and some things are bad.  You shouldn't reject ideas just because they are 'extreme.'

The ideas the USA was founded on were revolutionary and extreme in their day as well.  Should we refuse ideas just on the grounds that they are 'extreme'?

Fuck you and fuck moderation.

Moderation is for pussies.

Horseshit, the Legislative system we have today was a compromise, In which large states can dominate the House, and Smaller states can still hold influence in the Senate.

The decision to declare independence from Britain was not what everyone wanted, the states that wanted to hold out got pretty much forced into the same boat.

I suppose then that Islamic Terrorists are innately good because they are extremist?

Stick that in your crock, and read up on your history.

I'm not saying all extremist ideas are good, or bad.  I'm saying you are a fucking dipshit if you think so.  Some extremes are very GOOD.  Some are very BAD.

How does the simple fact that an idea is deemed 'extreme' by a consensus of people make it wrong, or bad?

His point was that extremism isn't necessarily and indicator that you are evil or good.

Name: Xel 2006-07-14 15:20

>>11 That depends on the definition of extremist, but that is actually true. As long as an ideology is somewhat aware of its potential limitations and doesn't resort to group thinking extremism is not necessarily bad.

You're all wrong. You're all viewing things as a fucked-up version of black and white--extreme is one end, be it right or left, and then exact sitting-the-fence centrism is the opposite end.

Extremism is bad because then even if the opposition has a good argument or a compromise, even such will automatically be dismissed as coming from the enemy's side.

Centrism is bad because if you always sit the fence you'll never get anything done.

With politics and political opinion, you can pick and choose what you believe just as long as those beliefs don't directly conflict with one another, making you nothing but a hypocrite.

IT WAS GORBA !!!

HE PRACTICALLY BANNED ALCOHOL, BUT LITTLE DID HE KNOW THAT RUSSIAN MEN DO NOT FUCTION PROPERLY WITHOUT ALCOHOL AS THEY HAVE BEEN CONSUMING HUEG (THINK XBOX HERE) AMOUNTS OF ALCOHOL FOR MANY GENERATIONS AND HAVE DEVELOPED GENES THAT RELY ON IT FOR NORMAL BRAINCHEMISTRY. WHEN THEY DIDN'T GET THEIR ALCOHOL ANYMORE... THEY STARTED TO RIOT AND SHOOT AT KREMLIN AND WHAT NOT... AND SO THE SOVIET UNION FELL.

"Extremists run the country because moderates got shit to do."

I'm not going to say that moderates are the way to go.  I don't believe any way is 'the way to go', except the way that someone believes in.  But I do think that most of the people in office (In the US, at least), are people who, had they not been elected into office, I would shy away from on a subway.  Out of touch at best, Bat-shit crazy at worst.  And too far at the ends of the political spectrum.  "[S]eries of tubes..." Seriously.

Some bi-partisan effort would be nice, but the dems and gop are both so anti-anything-but-people-similarly-insane-to-us, that it's just pathetic.

No one wants to be elected anymore as a moderate, except the President.  Presidental ticket still runs close-to-center, though the center's been drifting right recently.

Sad state of affairs when the people who are elected to office because they're supposed to be educated on these topics are even voting straight-ticket on the issues once they get there.

Our system's eventual failure might be one of the worst things to ever happen to humanity. I just hope we'll have grown enough as a species to have a better system of government in place.

Socialism does fuck all, so it's definately not socialism. Major failure = it is based on imagining perfect solutions rather than finding practical ways to get closer to them

Don't change these.
