Only nuts care. We have now much more real problems in hand.

This is exactly the type of shit that sucks with America; no attention span at all. Anti-Gay hate crime may be on the rise... But, if we talk about anything else than the war on terruhr, those fundamentalist, misogynist and homophobic terruhrists will win!

Honestly I don't care.
Most of those scientists that fully stand behind global warming 100% admit that it has actually changed the weather somewhere in the neiborhood of 2 degrees in the past century.
According to the USGS we have used well more than half of the ready available fosil fuels the earth has to offer, so even if we burn everything thats left it will only raise the temperature another 2 degrees. And this is discounting the fact that we are now burning those fuels in a much cleaner fashion.
I give the human race only so much longer to live regardless of what causes our extiction. Global weather shifts caused by greenhouse gas emitions near the bottom of my list of fears, somewhere right above alien invasions. We are bound to all kill eachother long before it becomes a true problem.

All these Americans... The European Unions just recently launched another initiative to combat global warming called "you control the climate" look it up. Im not going to give you a million facts an so on about global warming because you would not understand. This is not because your stupid its because you are not a climatologist and therefore not qualified form those opinions. The climatologists say its real and bad, we have had the 6 hottest summers on record in the UK in the last 10 years(records go back to 1500), its a real no brainier. Listen to the experts, not the voices in your head.
The voices in my head say "beach party!" the experts say "drought and famine" reality's a harsh mistress.
It's obvious we need to create a sustainable economy and stick to the regime. How to get fat cats and the apathetic population who will probably be dead before things get bad to care is where the difficulty lies.

That explains why its getting warmer and not colder, we're blocking the sun.

no thats the solution to global warming, pollute more to block the sun. eventually it will all balance itself out.

Global warming may exist, but there isn`t anything that can be done about it. Eventually, the technology will get to a point that it is relatively or completely clean, and that's not too far off, but if we decide to cut industry in order to cut pollution then economies will suffer as a result, leaving less money to invest into the clean technologies and ways in which to coexist with the planet.
As to the current results of an apparent global warming, I'd point out that the ice caps of Mars are also melting; Jupiter is producing new massive hurricanes; and density of the Van Allen belt around the Earth seems to be growing. It would seem to me that there's something more going on than simple human interference with technology and pollution.

Show me weather reports from the 1500's and tell me you really trust the person that did them. Come on, tell me that you really trust a thermometer that was made 500 years ago. or a barometer. or that they even measured rain with any real consistancy at the time. I trust simple things like storm counts (we had this many thunderstorms, hurricanes, blizzards this year) but even then not really. Christ I barely trust weather records from 150 years ago.

While I can agree that too many on the left are trying too hard to chip off easy polipoints by spreading doomsday-prophecies, the apathy and crossed-arms-and-huffy position of the right and the laissez-fairists are even worse.

Most of you posting in this thread are amerikan fuckwits who are still in denial about everything related to global warming, desperately grasping at junk science promoted by a few fringe lunatics to disprove what anyone with an ounce of sense can see is happening. What makes me laugh is that you are now beginning to pay the bill directly in hurricane damage repairs for your years of pollution, and still you buy your hueg trucks to take junior half a mile to school. Looking forward to visiting Nawlins aqua park in the near future.

If information fails, then I wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of people conducting terrorism against bad corporations. After all, if peaceful revolution is made impossible, violent revolution is the only option.

Actually liberals are too stupid to prove anything and too extreme for anyone sharing an opinion with them to get anything done.
Maybe if stupid people and their greedy liberal politicians stopped screaming inanely then we could listen to the scientists and their facts.

It's been 80 degrees for the past week here. 80 degrees, low humidity, in an area where the standard would be 105 degrees and 90% humidity.

I fail to see what environmentalism has to do with marxism, China is the biggest polluter in the owrld dumping toxic waste directly into rivers which people still get their drinking water from.
I hereby solicit the extremination of the entire population of China.
>>35
Well, there's a connection between big-government and environmentalism. Governments are the worlds largest polluters, hands down. The U.S. military pollutes more than all top 10 chemical companies in the world combined.

WHats wrong with extremination.
Those boring Chinese NEED to get EXTREME!
Seriously though, only Americans who blindly follow conservatives without question, (same for Austrailians and Canadians, as they are basically the same now) believe Global warming isn't real.

I used to be a liberal. I'm a libertarian now. I don't "blindly follow" anyone.
I would rather follow a conservative than a liberal now because they are a better party on other issues that I simply won't compromise on.

Global warming is a natural process, we are currently in an ice age and we were bound to heat up some time. But, the problem arises when we dump huge amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere by burning hydro carbons. This accelerates the process and makes it more extreme. WE are contributing to a natrual process and making it worse. we cant undo global warming, it would have hapened anyway, as part of the global heat cycle as preserved in the geological record.
All you environmentalists better be writing letters to your democraps to change their policy on guns rights, because it's costing them a hell of a lot of votes, and shouldn't be an issue anyways.
