IS CHINA'S GOVERNMENT MEAN?

a lot of countries have their own problems with their governments, but damn, the chinese in particular seem to be pretty heavyhanded in their treatment of their citizens. is this just an exaggeration perpetuated by the media or are they really proper mean?

You clearly don't know what you are talking about.  Chinese leaders are not only corrupt, and don't live by their own values... through their police statish powers, they attain near-emperor like status above their people.
