IS CHINA'S GOVERNMENT MEAN?

a lot of countries have their own problems with their governments, but damn, the chinese in particular seem to be pretty heavyhanded in their treatment of their citizens. is this just an exaggeration perpetuated by the media or are they really proper mean?

Chinese people(with exception of Hong Kong, but if PRC doesn't die before 2040 they're gonna get that too) have always had very dirty opressive goverment. Communist party and Emperors are same shit in different package.
