Does islam spawn terror??

I realize there is a chance for extremism in any religion, but is it just my imagination or are most terrorists muslim? If there is such a discrepancy between terrorists who are from other religions and those of islam then isnt it obvious that there is something in that religion that is causing it to happen and its not just some bad people that are apart the religion but something that is within the religion and taught to the people (im asking cuz i dont know much bout islam)? I am asking this not to flame on muslims, i am looking for legitimate answers that are not just flaming. also if the number of terrorists who are muslim is not exponentially higher then id also like to know what the numbers are.

        Any religion can spawn murder, terror, and violence, and most have as well.  However if is often the case that these are the result of the warping of the religion in order to benifit the organization in power of it.  For insance when the Catholic church started the crusades, witchhunts, and inquisitions, this was a warping of the teaching of christ.  While the first testimate advocated violence in some forms it didn't always, and Christ advocated violence never.  Islam however is the only modern widespread religon(these being Catholisism/christianity/anything involving christ at all, Jewdism, Hinduism, Islam, and Budism)  Hinduism I am far from an expert on so I will leave that up to others to say whether or not it adovates violence, but I don't recal it doing so to any great degree.  Budism absolutely advocates peace in almost every form (various warrior classes were actually considered cursed by them.  For insance the Samuri was a killer, directly against the teaching of Buda.  Their punisment was to be reincarnated in the next life as a Samuai yet again in a never ending cycle. And the WWII samurai Mentality propaganda was a complete warp of this code anyways).  Jewdiasm has a mix of violence and not putting up with shit, but I don't belive it often advocated aboslute force except for in defence of you and your's("thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" is actually a mistranslation of the origional text reading "thou shalt not suffer a prisioner to live" stemming from the fact that prisioners, and POWs especially were not treated well at this time, and the truly faithful would not continue his suffering but send him to god for his fate to be decided.  Islam is outright the most violent, With the Koran outright advocating extreem violence against the unbeliever and the Infidel.  The old testimant prettly much says and implies that God will take care of them himself.  the Koran says to kill them all.  Jesus actually on several instances said that the unbeliever who finds true faith will still get to heaven.  Budism doesn't give a damn what your religion is not having a God in it at all.  Now this doesnn't coenside with how many muslims believe, in much the same way not everyone who had faith in christ believed in the peace he preached.  However that doesn't stop the book from saying what it does.  True I haven't read all of the Koran, just a few pages here and there, but I haven't read all of either testimate either, or any religios manual of budism(not sure there is one) I don't bash any religion being agnostic myself, and am not trying to be impartial here.  All religions have potential for great tragedies, massacares, and terror to be inspired by them, Islam tends to exceed the potential of others.
