One can assume that most guys have some degree of a mother complex. This can be seen in the fact that men generally seek out women who are somewhat similar to their mothers. Whether or not this is specifically a sexual attraction or an attraction based on the desire to find a good mother for one's own children is debatable.
On the other hand, there is a percentage of the male population who will seek out women who are very much unlike their mothers. This is more than likely a result of a poor parent-child relationship. Whatever the case is, these individuals seem to make up a small minority within male populations.

Actually, it seems to be the case that we usually seek out that which is most similar to us genetically, so long as they aren't a close relative. Given that, it shouldn't be a surprise we end up with women similar to the woman who gave birth to us.
I just want to find a hot chick. Her looking like my mother has nothing to do with it. Infact, if she DID look like my mother I sure as hell wouldn't hit it. My parents raised me very well. They taught me well, and they took very good care of me. I STILL don't look for a woman that looks like my mother. I think this is some bullshit made up by some stupid dude who wanted to bone his mother and wanted an excuse.

It's not about physical appearance. It's more deeply related to overall demenor and personality.
And this isn't made up. Take a pyschology class, especially one dealing with sexuality, and you'll find this theory and others like it.
Um.. No? I just asked what the fuck you people are saying because I'm not getting it. What a stupid idea. Also, I know it isn't a made up "theory" but it's a "theory" and a "theory" is just a "theory" afterall.

In science, a theory isn't just a theory.
Don't mix up colloquial usage of the word "theory" with that used in science.
This isn't science this is just some dude who loves his mom.

Sure it is. Liking people similar to your mother does not mean you like your mother. That's prevented by something known as the Westermarck effect. Oh, I'm sure there are people who really do want to fuck their mom, but that's unusual.
Look up "genetic sexual attraction" and the above-mentioned "Westermarck effect".

Freud was plain fucked up. Fortunately we've moved beyond him and his mother complex and penis envy.

NO actually, we still have heavy amounts of freudian influence in modern psycholgy. The problem with freudian psychology it it combined somewhat filtered and pregidous observational skills, with at times brilliant deduction and reasoning skills. Great freudian Psycology book example was Female Sex Perversion by Maurice Chideckel. Brilliant deduction and reasoning skills. Teamed with just downright stupid and blind observational skills. This book should be able to be found in any college library with a psychology department, or on Amazon.com if you really want to buy it. It's honestly one of the funniest things ever written on psychology. I mean he couldn't have been more funny if he tried. But I have a fucked up sence of humor
The biggest problem with Freud's work is that all of it was based on an incredibly small sample. If I remember correctly, all his initial research was done on his own immediate family. However, with that said, it seems like Frued was on to something and a lot of the ideas he put forth do seem to make sense.

I still think Freud was talking about himself and trying to apply it to the rest of the world... especially the Anal Fixation.

Everyone thinks about sex with everyone and everything, these are just hypothetical brief thoughts that you usually forget becasue they don't yield anything important. Unless you actually have some lust for your mom, you don't want to fuck her beyond how much you would want to fuck a lamp-post.
Surely Freud must have realised this? Look in your little book and see if he discusses this anywhere.

What fields, specifically? Most moved on to rather exacting experimentation decades ago.
I detest Freud, so you'd think I would have noticed his influence during my education. Except for a brief wave in first-year psych (a brief stint in the history of psychology), I haven't seen it.

I would have sex with someone else's mother, if her pussy wasn't all stretched out from birthing. Of course there is oral and anal......
