No. Drugs have been in continued and social accepted use since before the Dark Ages. The whole anti-drug spin started during the Dark Ages where the collapse of the Roman Empire caused people to flat out lose knowledges as small as the recipe for fucking CEMENT.
Ignorance about most drugs and their uses come from this time and that's just a plain fact. With that said, yes too much Drugs CAN and most likely WILL fuck you up. But then again, too much of anything will fuck you up and there are no "good drugs or bad drugs", just legal and illegal.
I realize that 100% of you are probably nerds and spent your high school lives being made fun of by druggies, so to cope you've attached this "drug user" stigma to casual persuers of highs. That's your right. But it's not the truth.

The argument is completly unnessesary. if you mean drugs are "bad"-unhealthy, sure they are. However a drug that dammages me is my business. i am aloud to brand myself with a hot iron, i can cut myself with a knife, i can damage my body in countless other ways and it is my business, same with drugs.
if you mean "BAd"-for society there is no way to prove either way, but i tend to disagree as they tend to relieve social pressure in moderate ammounts. Even if they were proven to be an absolute detriment to society, they still shouldn't all be illegalized, that just makes them uncontrolable. One of the little heard of things about prohibition that caused it to be repealed was that alcohol being illegal, pedalers didn't care who they sold it to. a five year old could go into a bar and have some drinks. Legalizing pot would make dealers around schools easier to control, simply by creating a place where it could be legally delt in.

drug dealers, muslims, and drug-dealing muslims should all be tortured and killed publically for the entertainment of straight-edge monks such as yours truly
Illegal drugs may be bad, but most drugs are good.

Coffee, chocolate, tea, cigarette... all drugs. If they were chemically processed similarly to coca leaves, they'd be just like any other street drug.

I would be willing to bet that there have not been any laws on the books (in the US at least) that have not been helped along with the aid of coffee, cigarettes or nicotine.

Non-medical drugs are bad, but no reason to make them illegal. Actually making them legal would greatly drop amount of drug crimes as gangs, drug cartels and mafias would lose their monopoly on drug trade. Wise men don't do drugs(some may, but only for "experimenting" and not on street) anyway, so let natural selection do it's work with drug users.

I don't know, there'd be brand name crack dealers that would inflate prices, lobby congress to pass beneficial self-regulating policies, and even more potential for corruption and bribery in the government and in foreign relations. Like the CIA, only not secretive about it.
Wise men aren't born wise, they are products of upbringing. If the prevading culture (or counterculture) tells people that drugs are cool (they are not), few will have the opportunity to grow up very wise.
I am saddened by some of who I consider to be friends and good people who have taken up drugs, and I think hardcore drug dealers should be put to death indiscriminantly and drug users should be helped to reintegrate into normal (within a few stddevs) life and society.

i totally disagree. drugs are not a bad thing. some drugs can be used to expand your mind and help you think out of the box. some drugs will calm you down. other drugs will give you a boost when you need it.
it's all about regualtion. abuse of substances is never a good thing. you can "throw back" a few beers, but if you're drinking constantly you're going to damage your body and just become sluggish and unable to function.
it's the same thing with drugs, only they work differently.
and the main reason that drugs have not been legallized is because without drugs, who would we fill our prisons with? what would our common poorly trained police officers do all day long? and what would all of your tax dollars that are going to "the war on drugs" go to?
wise men live on their own accord, and grow into powerful individuals as they choose.
when it comes down to it, many of the greatest minds of time have been partakers in drug use. stop living in a shell.
