Aliens (the ones from space)

Maybe this doesn't belong in Politics, but between the threads about hating black people and the threads about hating pedos, I don't think anyone will really mind.

Anyway,

For some reason, when people thing about the possiblity of encountering extra-terestrials they have a fear of them being hostile or violent toward humans.  But when you think about it, humans may very well be the most violent creatures in the universe.  Certainly other organisms fight, kill, and eat one another, but humans are really they only things that obsecess about killing and violence, and many of them find pleasure in it.

Despite every culture in the world (except Islam har har) denouncing violence humans still find ways to become more violent.  Inventing techniques to cause more pain, kill faster, kill more, etc. etc....
So, really, I'd have to say, even if we lack the technology to travel space and time, humans are probably the most blood thirsty creatures to ever exist.

I have no problems with bloodthirsty aliens. I actually  wish they'd come here so that we could get rid of Christians and other religious fuckers.

Aliens look at us with disdain for our primitive barbarism and failure to use full mental capacity in cooperation with others.  Therefore, we are like studied monkeys to them, and they can swoop down and mess up our corn fields and expect us to blame it on ourselves.  After all, you wouldn't sign a peace treaty with a chimpanzee, because you know no good will come of it.

   actually there is little to say that we humans are really proportionally more violent than other creatures.  our minds are more complex so we are able to view the effects of violence in a different light than other species and that makes us different.  however we are carniverous(obniverous, but we still have instict to eat meat) in nature, and carniverous nature can only be achieved though violence or scavanging(usually a combination)  However in other intelligent primates such as chimps(also eat meat and can have very violent societies) mental states simular to sadism.  we are simply violent animals with more brain power so that we know that we are violent animals, and can seek other forms of violence.  I guess if you like the idea of aliens  you have be aware of wheter a particular alien race is carniverous or herbarover.  a carniverous race might wipe us out to stop competion before it becomes a risk. where herbavores may wipe us out to prevent our violence.  Violence is just our nature. and likely the nature of any alien as well as i doubt a non carniverous species could advance far enough without wiping out all their predators first, and that requires violence as well.  you are assuming that aliens are utopian gods, when they are just other intelligent animals from another planet

aliens would most likely be peaceful.

think about it. what would an alien race have to gain from taking over earth? not a god damn thing. they would get a planet that's almost exhausted of it's resources, blah blah happie shit blah.

that and it's almost fully populated. unless they have someway of mass demolishment [in which case, they're probably gonna kill us anyway] i think they'd be more likely to be an intellegent race searching for the best of the best of the human race.

An alien scout ship would get here first and use us for research purposes.

Chances are the aliens knew about this planet for 1000000s of years before hand and are just observing through a scout ship. Their main civilisation would extract enormous amounts of energy from stars and is probably on it's way and will take another 1000000s of years to get here. In the meanwhile the scout ship will observe and examine.

    Actually people have all the violen impulses we always have.  the problem is that we have no output for those impulses any more.  this leads to violent video games, movies, and other artifical outputs.  We have weapons so powerful that we can't be violent anymore.  The reason that we can look back on our history and call our forefathers barbarians and butchers is that our weapons have advanced to the point were we can't do the butchering that we have done in the past with sword and gun.  we have long range bombs now that also just takes the old-fashion fun out of killing things.

Can we honestly talk seriously about aliens if we ahven't even seen one yet?
