Millions of workers

What do you propose we do with a surplus of workers?  I'd say trash sorting and recycling, but there is a security risk with employees pocketing sensitive papers or valuable items when no one is looking.  Other careers- chemical waste handling, human waste and sewage handling, coal mining, litter picking, graffiti washing...
