Theosophy

Can anyone tell me why Theosophy fails? I have looked over it and the main organisations proporting it and i can find no disernable flaws such as the main Monothesitic religions of the world all carry.

A believe in Metaphysics is required, though it is not completely proposterous in what it claims, and it doesnt allow for dependancy and completely fail such as Christianity.

The world would be a better place if we studied this more closely. Otherwise we will fail and all go to Hell for being Anti-Jesus.

Because not all religion can be correct or reconciled with others.

>>1 is a fucking idiot. Look at the race thread, look at the immigration and abortion threads. Do you really think there's any fucking hope for humanity? Are you really so niave and stupid to believe that the world can ever "be a better place"?

Race Wars, God Wars, Land Wars, War Games

Do you really think any of these things, given your experiences with human beings will ever cease to be? We live in a world where if you have to ask yourself "Am I a slave to someone else's master" -- then you are a slave. And worst yet, that means you're only educated and have enough freedom as your master let's you."

The end of the world already fucking happened.

You just didn't notice.

Why not study philosophy and ethics.  You get a diverse range of views without being told to believe anything.

/religion/ is over
...there.

>>3 Your right, But Theosophy is more a science than shit religion. You dont know what your speaking about, so i suggest you read up somemore before speaking shit.

Religion and want for religion is a dependancy, based on need, wants and reinforced by society and culture that allows it to flourish.

We will never have a Culture or Civilization completely free of religion or religious influences, as it is religion mostly that provides moral backdrop to atheist administration.

Present day science takes that which can be proven and verified Empircally to be true. However, what did this scientists centurys ago say when by logical conclusion they came to an awnser, but there was a gap in the middle? Periodic table anyone? They left gaps, and there later proved to be things to put in those gaps.

Metaphysics is hardly comparable to religion when looking from a Scientific mindset, as it does not look for a deity nor almighty power than will comfort and console and guide, as religion, but wishes to expand the realm of science, which will eventually be eventually verifyable.

Progess is made on informed assumptions, which are valid if made with an objective viewpoint (Religion is not such a view point)

We assumed certain things about space: We could not test them empirically until we got there.

Theosophy is about the Science behind the dynamics and cause which led to deluded religion and creation. It isnt perfect, but you will find that many statements made by it have been proven by science.

Lucid dreaming, Astral Projection, Remote viewing and such, You scientists might consider false. But they have all been proven =Empircally=, And are used in every day life, by Atheist organisations and reserch to investigate into the mind.

>>3, You failed.

What the hell? I thought theosophy isn't science nor religion, but just another name for occultism.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-09 13:29

No there is a marked difference between the stereotypes associated with the occult and that of theosophy, Some teachings of the latter can be considered 'occult' or secretive, but they tend to dislike such a word to describe them because of all the negative sterotypes associated with the occult by the average person (e.g Devil worship, belief in deity etc etc)

ive never heard of it, it must be stupid bullshit

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-09 16:00

>>9 Mm thats the thing. One of the main features of such doctorine is Esoterism. You can understand the implications of what would happen if say, every country knew how to build an atomic bomb, where as not quite on the same scale, you can imagine what the power of Remote viewing or such might have if it was a power of all.

There is a reason for secrecy in most things, and philosophy is one of those areas an esoteric mindset in regards to 'doctorine' (for want of a better word) is prevelant.

Is a Universal Paradigm any better than a personal God?

Sorry, that argument is false. So what if something may be true, until there is proof, unfortunately there is no reason to assume so.

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-10 2:38

>>10 Something might be true, and there might be no reason to assume to being so.

For example, if you were looking from a purley scientifc empircal angle. And you were tracing along back the lines of some species or whatever, and then suddenly 'omg i found a new type of so and so'.

It wasnt expected, and there was no reason for assuming that this would be part of that particular species chain (because based on what they were working on, this does not completely conform to it)

Soo, in regards to 'No reason' it depends from what you define as 'resonable', and this comes from where you are looking
