Is there still time for the US?

Is there still time to arrest and prosecute those responsible for an illegal war and fix what has happened so far? Can the US still try to correct what it has done and become the first ever good superpower?

Or is that an idealist's dream, do politics never change and will the charade continue forever?

If Bush was a democrat with no cronies and no business associates he'd be impeached a lot earlier in his first or second term.
