heya you americans,

can some ppl from us-of-a shed some light on the general consensus regarding michael moore's perspective on corporate america and george bush in general~ is america being mis-represented or do you reckon his onto something here?

Moore is no longer taken seriously.

Most of us think GWB is a fool.

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-08 11:48

Moore is taken seriously by those in power because he is precived a threat, therefore many attempts have been made to marginalize him.

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-08 12:30

Moore is to the left as Fox News is to the right.  Meaning, they both exaggerate.  We need more moderates...

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-08 16:51

Fat.

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-08 17:25

Moore has claimed that everything he presents has been carefully researched. Ignoring how easy it is to put spin on the truth, can someone provide (well-researched) sources that confirm or deny this claim?

He doesn't give a shit what he does so long as it makes him lots and lots of money by entertaining people and that's what he does entertain stupid people who could care less about what he has to say

Actually, moderates don't help. Moderates only perpetuate problems that either left or right would be more fit to fix. Moderates also lead to marginalizing of anyone who isn't moderate as being "extreme" which will lead to a lot of problems. Also, Moore is definitely not worthy of representing the left. In fact, the Liberal Media BS needs to be thrown out the window, because it doesn't exist. Fox News is pure ignorance. Good example of the left would be AK press and a good example of the right is New Republic. The real problem is that we are no longer dealing with conservatives and liberals that can be defined upon a 2 dimensional political spectrum. What we are facing are anti-idiotarians, neo-conservatives, statists, rightwing evangelicals, and leftwing moderates. A few Libertarian socialists and Civil Libertarians do still exist, but they are so few that they can hardly stand against the conservative based backlash that has occured in the last few years.

Agreed, except that there has never been a substantial number of Civil Libertarians.

Maybe in the beginning of the Republic. You know, when our government was worth a damn.

Moore is considered liberal, which is a synonym of terrorist and communist.

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-12 6:50

Michael Moore is a socialist, most liberal americans are anti-socialist and pro-liberal democracy. They want to be able to make a lot of money if they work hard, they just don't want 1% owning 90% of all the cash and working families living in poverty. In general the only disagreement between liberals and conservatives is economical. Only the extremists believe in evil whitey or stupid niggers or believe that the US is trying to take over the world or that mecca should be nuked into glass. etc etc..

Michal moore deserves to DIE

Name: Anonymous 2006-03-16 14:27

You people are fucking retarded, Michael Moore in his film never went into details of what really went on. He intentionally left critical information out. Liberal, hahaha. I call him a Bush buddy. There's better liberal stuff out there.

In bowling for co,umbine he journals the story of a black 5 year old boy who shot and killed a white 5 year old girl with his uncles gun that was left lying around. The mother was part of a scheme which grants tax breaks to companies if they provide jobs to the poor nad unemployed, Michael Moore tried to make out that the politician involved for this scheme was responsible for the tragedy.

Shortly afterwards he snuck his way into the NRA chief's home to interview him and the the NRA chief spouted some dogma which racists commonly use, he then mentionned the tragedy to him.

Anyone with the least intelligence would realise that Michael Moore is wrong about the causes for the tragedy and see a hint as to the actual cause of the tragedy as well as the emotive propoganda that the killing of a 5 year old white girl by a black boy in her same class would generate.

I think Michael Moore isn't that stupid and did this intentionally and is in fact a racist conservative posing as a liberal in order to pass subtle messages across to liberal whites.

>>1 He is definitly onto something. The present US government cannot be trusted. They are just shrewed businessmen.
Bush's and cheney own majority shares of the Carlyle group which makes tanks and all army related vehicles except aircraft.
Cheney owns Haliburton which supplies medical supplies to army and aid to other countries for a price.
Put them both together and you see that without war, thier businesses won't be raking in the cash. When war is present,Haliburton gets all the contracts for rebuilding and food aid and so on.

It's sad but true.

I wish people would pull their heads out of their asses and wake up, even if it's almost two years too late.

And for those who criticize him for making money, well, unfortunately, a mainstream movie's about the only means to effectively convey such important information to much of the American people, because it sure as hell won't reach anyone if it's in the newspaper or in a book (especially much of the people in the Midwest, who may own a bible, but almost certaintly haven't read it).  Making money is just a byproduct of releasing any mainstream movie that does relatively well.  He's been making documentaries years before Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11, most of which I assume didn't make close to as much money as these films have, so he's not an opportunist.

If Fahrenheit 9/11 contained so much rampant bullshit, shouldn't Micheal Moore have been successfully sued years ago for libel, by the numerous parties, individuals and corporations he criticized?  Last time I checked, the closest they could come up with is a "counter movie" whose main point of argument centered around the fact that after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Bush waited ten minutes less at the school reading "My Pet Goat" than Moore claimed.  It's truly pathetic.

...and all you guys can come up with is that he's fat...

I recommend reviewing the use of articles (冠詞). Just fixing that problem would improve your English very quickly and easily. I recommend against using abbreviations like "thx" and "plz". Using them is not incorrect, but they are mostly used by teenagers.

Well, I'll tell you one of the reasons why I'm learning English.
First, to speak frankly, I think foreign women are wonderful.
"To speak frankly" is not incorrect, but I think "to be blunt" would sound more natural.

For example, I often see tourist groups that consist of foreign people walking around in Kyoto, where I live.
Every time, I think the foreign women in the group are very beautiful.
"who belong to the group" (not incorrect)
"in the group" (more natural)

So let me think OF what's necessary to associate with foreign women.
"what's necessary to associate with foreign women"
"what I need to hang out with foreign women"
Either is fine

LF, humanity, sociability. Those are obvious.
"I need to have manners, to have a personality/to be charming and to be sociable. That's obvious."
LF is 和製英語

Anything else?
... I forgot a fundamental thing.
English.

Christians finally start to realize the problem when they go into school and ask the teacher "What are you teaching our kid?" and the teacher replies "Urr, i'muh speeshul. I wurk for minimum weege. I liek pancakes."

Don't change these.
