Speeding tickets in Canada - any hope?...

Name: Anonymous 2006-01-31 19:57

Anyone gone to court and beat this? (I'm in Canada btw)
What are the chances? I never admitted fault to the officer and the ticket was given to me in a construction zone...

can you ever answer the question? BTW I am not >>39 and am not really sure WTF he's talking about...but anyway

So you give me links for road geometries, which as I pointed out current road design takes into account much higher speeds than we are allowed to go at, so now where is your safety argument? The road was already designed to be safe at higher speeds? So if the government wasn't so concerned about their pocket books why not increase the speeds? even on those roads only if safety is a concern? You know why because the insurance loby and the police loby won't let them.

No conspiracy here, just facts I posted links before how speeding is mega bucks for the government.

Also you never responded to my earlier point if as you say safety is the overiding factor in speed limits why is there no consensus on speed limits globaly?? Why is it safe on certain stretches of the autobahn to have no limit at all and why is 75 mph (120kph) safe in Montana when we are restricted to 100 Kph over here?

So you going to answer or just dodge and call me an oh noes conspiracy theory guy?

What question? All I see from you is the GRAND CONSPIRACY. LET'S JUST IGNORE ALL THAT RESEARCH INTO DANGER WILL ROBINSON HIGH SPEED! TEH GOVERMENT IS AFTER MY DOUGH LOL!

How about you actually read the last two links instead of claiming "zOMG BIAS IT'S FUNDED BY THE GOVERNMENT!" If you're so fucking lazy, just look at the graphs.

Fucking hell. Take your antipsychotics already. The voices are telling you to.

Ok I'll make it simple for you: why can certain stretches of the autobhan have no speed limit (and I have seen those streches and they are not much different from our highways here) while we get 100kph on perfectly straight stretches of multilane highway, eg parts of the 407, the 400?
