"Democracies" of the world

Name: Tardy 2005-10-29 11:59

It might be easy to hail or bash the US or Britain as "free" or "enslaved," depending on how you stand ideologically, but it gets harder when the five choices are hardly democratic... and here they are:

China, Russia, Mexico, Nigeria, and Iran.

If you could kindly list, in order of most to least, your choices followed by a description why you ranked them as such.

Take into account the constitutions of the government, de facto implementations and beliefs, and overall quality of life of the people. Ok, there should be more, but... you get the idea.

"Into what extent and what ways are China, Russia, Mexico, Nigeria, and Iran democratic"?

And, fuck Iran. Crazy-ass new president.

I'll list them in order of awesome factor because I don't know what democracy means.
1. Nigeria – 419 scams <3
2. China – A Chinese girl once made me very tasty food.
3. Mexico – They speak Mexican and have fashionable hats.
4. Russia – There is no awesome in Russia.

I've never been to Iran, so no comment on that :(

what the fuck is this, your homework?

Instead of answering, I'll show you the definition of democracy:
a political system in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens who can elect people to represent them

You really think that any country in the world has a system close to that? Citizens vote in compromise with the hope that the rep won't fuck them over, not in favor. The only governments actually representing their people are third-world like Venezuela or local ones.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...HAHAHA...HA...whoo...

But you're right. No one ever votes for anyone because he or she likes any of the representative's positions.
