Country of New England

In an alternate history, could the culture of New England be extended to the entire United States, or would it still remain regionally focused.

Unlikely. You'd have to go waaaaaay back and basically eradicate tobacco. Then jump forward a few hundred years and force everyone to settle the West in clustered communities.

I refuse to imagine such a horrible possiblity.
