Ignoring race is such a white thing to do.
You have data in front of you; imagine an Excel spreadsheet. If you ignore one column, the data has no orientation, it appears statistically random. E.g., the people left in N.O. just got fucked. But if you notice that of the people who got fucked, their value in one column is always the same... then you have to see the correlation.
Ignore it all you want, it doesn't make it true.
Like Dr. Rev. MLK Jr. said, "I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Councilor or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate... Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection."
