The British King/Queen, the Japanese Emperor, great leaders in the past have influenced the greatest nations, only to be replaced by boring parliaments, ministers, and cabinets full of bureaucrats who accomplish nothing.  Yes, there are despots, there are rulers who abuse thier power, their are warmongers like Hirohito, but there are also rulers who know how they want to lead a country, rather than a bunch of stuffy old bastards who want to look out for themselves and their retirement.  Rulers care more about a country, for better or worse, than a bunch of indesicive people who can't agree with themselves.  There needs to be a strong leader who isn't afraid to back down.  Like that guy that runs Iron Chef.

You just can't wrap your head around the fact that it's always a committee that runs things; so you need an intelligible figurehead.

hahaha

Snap decisions are still deferred to someone in a time of crisis. It's just that that someone is not a very famous person and the snap decisions can be overturned by committees.

These days, royals rarely have power, so I don't see anything wrong with them. People often complain that royal families cost a lot of money, but they're responsible for a lot of tourist income as well.

Don't change these.
