Back in the day, people would use homemade cleaners and homemade remedies, or all-purpose products such as alcohol or vinegar for different uses. Yes, demand for various products would go down as price would increase, but what other effects would it have on the economy? Would it help or hurt the economy overall? Would it increase inflation due to consumers having more money for themselves by using cheap alternatives, rather than giving to corporations? Or would it increase spending in other areas, and help the economy?
