What does everyone think sex ed should be like in schools? Personally I think it should actually educate, rather than aim to prevent sex from happening. Let's have people come out of sex ed with a good knowledge of sexual etiquette and the knowledge to please their partners. (Oh, this comes from someone whose school had abstinence only sex education in which it was taught that condoms with neither prevent disease nor pregnancy. I'm not making that up.)

I remembering having sex education in sixth grade, we learned about our sex organs and where babies came from so I guess it was better than your school but there wasn't much talk about condoms or actual sex or anything else euntil eight or ninth grade.
I think sex education should start around sixth grade and after the requisite description of genitalia, there should be more discussion about what sex is, physically and emotionally, the dangers and how to minimise the dangers.
Definitely stop shunning sex as a taboo, there's always going ot be kids having sex young and making them feel like if they're criminals won't help them any bit.

Actually, in my oppinion making them feel like criminals makes them more likely to have sex. It adds to the rebelliousness of it. The more we try and expect adolescents to be perfectly inocent porceline doll children until their 18th/21st birthday the more dangerous the inevitable rebellions are likely to be. We didn't have any form of sex ed here until 8th/9th grade.

I recall in biology class watching an animated film of people having sex, but the guy was really small so we figured it was an instructional video of how to fuck your mum, or at least your older sister.

If everyone took biology and the subject of human reproduction is not watered down, that is what sex education should be at its core. But sex education should also cover relationships as well I feel. How to handle rejections, trust and so on in a relationship.
Of course be hard in some cultures such as Asia cultures where having a relationship in schools are a definite no no.

this type of education should be left to the parents. teaching something that may be considered 'right' or 'wrong' depending on one's religious upbringing shouldn't be handled in a public school. if parents try to raise their kid with a 'sex is bad until you're married, and contraception is evil' mindset, and school's teaching them how to use a condom so you don't accidentally knock up little Suzie in the supply closet, you'll just end up with a confused kid.

Then the parents should send their kid to a private school or homeschool them. Confusion is better than AIDS.

In my humble opinion we should have sex education in public schools, but how about we try a "permission slip" type of plan? The more religious/prudent families can have there children remain ignorant while the rest get indoctrinated. This way both sides win, the liberal families can let the government raise there children and the conservatives’ sons and daughters become an easy fuck when they get into college.

Sex education should be purely clinical. Schools shouldn't be grooming kids to have sex with each other, just telling them what to do when they want to.

Parent's shouldn't be allowed to keep their kids ignorant, that's why the school system exisists in the first place.

Sex ed. should be taught the same way we teach math: absolutely no exposure to it until the information is needed in real life. That way, our kids can grow up to be taken advantage of and robbed by the grocery store teller who knows more about math than they do.

no. sex education is more than just talking about what the penis does when it enters the vagina. >>20 is right
I met someone from some midwest state that I shall not name whose parents made her look it up in a book when she was 11 to find out WHY SHE WAS BLEEDING FROM HER COOTCH.
her parents never let her sit in on those sex education classes from day one. so when she had her first period, she thought she was going to die.
she also thought that if you had sex in two different guys within a week the different sperm would kill each other and thus prevent a pregnancy.
