Yes, this issue is a no-lose situation for Republicans...
It is an easy, sure-thing case to get written into law on the general topic of religious-based 'right to life'(hey, they'll take what they can get)
It is definite concrete progress for their 'life' agenda and you are certainly correct about the legal precident being what matters here

But Frist was no surprise(2nd billing this time).. He is the most powerful senator... by default they use his image for any large agenda campaigns, Delay seems to have asked to piggyback this easy win for his own image improvement. Frist is a MedicalDoctor you know... we call him DR Pfizer (lol)
