Legalization Marijuana

Name: Christopher Holley 2012-08-21 8:22

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that more than 37,000 annual U.S. deaths occur from the effects of alcohol. On the other hand, the CDC does not even have a category for deaths caused by the use of marijuana. So that means there are close to zero if any deaths attributed to marijuana consumption. Also the cost of healthcare for alcohol is around $170 annually far outweighing the cost of marijuana which is $20 annually. Donald Tashkin of UCLA, a pulmonologist who has studied marijuana and it effects for 30 years. Just recently came out with a study proving that marijuana use has no link between increased rates of cancer. Also the chemical THC has shown that it can reduce the rates of cancer. http://www.globalcollegeblog.com/legalization-of-marijuana-vs-american-stupidity.html

I agree that marijuana should be legalized

Marijuana is only not legalized because it is somewhat related to hemp. And the only way to logically make hemp illegal is to make marijuana illegal.

Just about anything can cause diseases and death. Some more easily than others, though; smoking¹ causes cancer, alcohol phuxx0rs the liver, etc. Those sort under "Life-style diseases" or somesuch, depending on local nomenclature.

¹ In case you've not guessed it, that'll be mainly the tobacco. I've yet to hear about studies regarding tobacco-less consumption of cannabis. The only one I've heard until now, is that thingy from the 80's, that briefly concluded an extra risk of cancer from smoking one gram a day for twenty years, or whatever that was. One sentence in the news, cue next story.

well, i think if they legalize it it would mean that allot of agencies will receive less budget each year. And that would mean that the manpower they needed to fight the "war " on weed would not be needed anymore... so politically the unemployment would go up.

On the other hand if it's legalized you can control and regulate it more efficiently and for one you prevent minors getting some of dat herb from a guy on the corner. Second; By controlling it you prevent that the market would be flooded by cheap or dangerous substances, different variations of marijuana.

But going back to the core of the issue; it is still a mentally effective substance. And although each person has a different resistance against it. The experience of marijuana is still basically the same.

This plant will have great effects for some people, but for the most it's just a pleasurable thing to light up.

Don't change these.
