its 2012 so no. Theres always an end of the world theory every millennium. Although ancient aliens could have some form of science that can predict catastrophic lunar activity and they could have told this to the mayans as they picked up their stone work with their flying machines to help them build their temples. The ancient aliens didnt bother helping them build anything else, just the temples.
yes, and on that day michael jackson will join forces with daft punk and do a mashup of thriller and one more time. it's gonna be fucking awesome!

Everyone predicts the end of the world but it never comes. That's why the Jehovah Witness cult stopped picking an exact date and go with the "it's gonna end one day and y'all be sorry THEN."
the world is ending progressively. slowly. perhaps this year might just not be a point of non return where our civilization will finally decline.
we should've been installed on the moon since the eighties and been walking on mars since 1994-95 and missions around venus. we should have eradicated world hunger and all the retarded shit back in the 70's, just... how did mankind fucked up so hard ?

Don't blame the rest of us for your delusional world view of "what we should have been able to do." There's no point in doing something unless there's a reason and the will to do it. There are a lot more varying opinions around this world than your narrow one.

@OP, it hasn't ended so far in several billion years, so the probability of it ending in the next year is ~0.

If I haven't won the lottery for the past ten years, this means there's a really good chance I'm going to win this time.

I haven't won the lottery for the past ten years; there's a good chance I won't be winning it this time, either.
You can't take a situation where something is known for "not happening" and use that as a basis to argue for something "happening." That's expectation-based internal logic and has nothing to do with probability; the law of averages is only a heuristic of wishful thinking.

LOL
The world can't "end". If something ENDS is OUR CONSUME-CONSUME-CONSUME lifestyle.

It's not like we "humans" have an influence on what's going to happen anyways. Well we certainly do know how to ruin our nature and every good that was kindly entrusted to us but I believe we aren't efficient to bring doom to the world in less than a year.
