Greeks retire in their 50's and collect government benefits

There's a loophole in Greek building codes that says you don't owe property taxes until the house is incomplete, so millions of Greek houses are deliberately left incomplete so they never pay any property taxes.

The general greek mentality is like the general Mexican and black  mentality in America: they really do believe the government owes them housing, food, and benefits for a life of sloth and laziness

Greece is a gateway for Muslim immigrants coming into Europe and is increasingly becoming poorer and more violent because of it

Now the Greek government can no longer support such a culture and Greeks ahve to actually pay taxes and stop mooching government benefits, the pampered Grteek people are pissed.

What do you mean "can't support such a culture"? They have Europe to back them up whenever they're short on funds.

Don't forget that after the Euros go broke bailing out the Greek welfare system, Obama wants to raise our taxes so that we can bail out the Euros.  Who's going to bail us out?  China?  Uh oh.

Greece explained 4 real!

Greece only went bankrupcy because of the crisis. Greece major income was tourism:
"Look at this stone, here Heracles defeated the Cyclops!"
Fat idiot tourist: "Who?"
"Hercules"
"Wow, Hercules like the guy in the TV series", throws lots of $$ and €€ at the greek tourist guide.
In the crysis, no more tourists came and Greece had to run on their own funds, now the funds are out but they will soon be back:
"Want to see the place where Europe was taken by Zeus"...
Greece crisis is the last one, someone should worry; its the other countries that may have financial issues that cannot be repaired easily.

OP understands what went wrong.

The Euro crisis will trigger the eventual slide of the EU as a whole towards a federated democracy. At the moment, they have trade, transportation, and monetary issues set by central policy. I'd expect to see a policy shift in the Eurozone towards limiting the ability of governments to operate in a deficit. This will precipitate the adoption of a no-bailout policy, which in turn will enable the European Congress to start enforcing policy, by withholding funds from various countries.

Keep in mind that the concept of free ingress and egress were what solidified the United States as one country, rather than 13 separate ones. Once Europe switches over to the "vote where you live" policy, rather than "vote where you're from", they will have effectively become one country.

I predict this will happen over the next 15-20 years. Anders was a god of strategic insight. But he only considered a small part of the problem, and focused only on Scandinavia.

OP is amazing.

True.

To ensure something like this never happened, when they were starting the Euro, nations had to fulfil certain criteria  before being allowed to join. Including a consideration of level of national debt & budget deficit/surplus.

The Greek government at the time just lied.
The problem is that no-one considered that a government might try (and succeed) to cook the books of an entire country.

Also: "Once Europe switches over to the "vote where you live" policy, rather than "vote where you're from", they will have effectively become one country."

In the UK, this already applies to R Ireland & commonwealth nations. They get the vote if they live here, even if not citizens. But we're far from 'one country' with Cameroon.

"Holy shit, governments who were working for their banker buddies cooked a whole nation's books!"

"We need to get that money back for our banker buddies!"

"But all the money fell into a black hole because we were retarded and didn't watch the union we created!"

"I know, let's tax the poor grannies and workers!"

"But they only give them 700 euros a month!"

"Well, now they have to make do with 200 lol"

Capitalism owns.

By the way, Greeks work almost as much as South Koreans, so much for lazy.

Greek work week = 30 hours per week
S. Korean work week = 44 hours per week

"almost as much," riiiiiiight.

Tourists ease Greek crisis

ATHENS - Tourists visiting Greece for their summer holidays have given a big unexpected boost to the recession-hit Greek economy, official data showed.

Revised data for gross domestic product in the second quarter of the year showed that the economy shrank by 3.8 per cent on a 12-month comparison. This was far better than the initial estimate which showed the economy shrinking by 4.6 per cent.

The latest figures are in line with signs that the deep recession in Greece is easing.

Obviously there is a vast majority in EU that cant control their banks, just dont get it really... did everyone lost common-sense after the time that they went to school? Or was it the fact that they grew up just wanting to be a person in power?

Raises question, non-theless.
