New Finnish Tobacco Law Comes Into Effect After 1.1.2012
After 1.1.2012 no tobacco products or tobacco related ads or names are to be visible inside stores. They are only allowed to be marked with number codes so customers have no idea which products are which. The stores can print out paper leaflets to borrow to customers on special request but stores are not obligated by law to do this. So when you go to a store you can ask Green Marlboro Dark (Menthol Marlboro) for example but if you wish to try out other products you have guess the item since clerks are not allowed to open the cabinets to view products to the customers. Only after the customer has made a decision the clerk can quickly open the cabinet and take the product and close the cabinet. If the cabinets doors are left open it will result in fines.
