Obama's bus tour

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-18 10:36

So he's using a bus made in Canada to go around telling Americans that he wants to put them to work with construction jobs...................that'll just end up going to illegal Mexicans while contractors pocket huge profits off of not paying Americans.

Is he totally oblivious to this?

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-19 6:54

The eligibility requirements to be president are astoundingly low. The constitution should be amended to reflect that.

It should at least have a fricking IQ test.......

A high IQ wouldn't stop someone from making stupid decisions. For example, Carter.

NOBAMA 2012

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-19 19:37

FACT: Almost 100% of American voters will cast a vote in 2012 for a Presidential candidate who only takes orders from Wall Street.

Sadly, this is true.

So the Republicans want to solve the debt crisis by decreasing taxes on the rich and increasing taxes on the poor.

No, that's the joke . . .

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-24 0:08

No, the Republicans don't want to solve the debt crisis, since they don't want to decrease spending.

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-24 23:17

>So the Republicans want to solve the debt crisis by decreasing taxes on the rich and increasing taxes on the poor.

This is what libfags want you to believe because they have nothing else.

This is what conservatives say when they know they've just been nailed.

What in the blueberry fuckmuffins are you talking about? Republicans have done nothing but offer spending cuts in their budget battles with Pelosi and Reid. It's the democrats who want to minimize cutbacks because they don't want to lose votes in next year's election.

Obama and the democrats WON'T do what's necessary to stop this country from bleeding money:
1. stop pampering over-paid unions.

2. stop giving illegals a free ride and close all the loopholes they exploit to rob America of billions per year.

3. close tax loopholes billion-dollar corporations use to get by with paying little to no taxes.

4. stop giving money away to other countries. We gave $18 billion to Pakistan to help us fight terrorism, and what do they do? Hide and protect the biggest terrorist in the world, then in an act of butthurt show the wreckage of our downed chopper to the Chinese and anyone else who want to get intel out of how it's quieter.

In fact Obama's construction jobs idea is just a pork project disguised as a job creation idea, and where the fuck would he get the money for that?

>gave 18 billion to pakistan, those ungrateful fucks
after murdering many of their kids.
Also, i hate both parties, but the republicans outright refuse to increase taxes on the rich, or do any real cuts onto business subsidies.

The republicans won't do your 3rd point either.
Again, the democrats are just as bad, but don't pretend the republicans are promising anything effective either.

The us is practically the only country that gives vast amounts of foreign aid. We don't literally send over a check to them. We kinda say "here's how much we will give you, this is the percent you need to spend on american products (usually a high number)" and any other conditions the government comes up with. It makes us look good and circulates our economy. Instead of spending let's say, 40 million dollars on something typical we use it to circulate our economy.

>Also, i hate both parties, but the republicans outright refuse to increase taxes on the rich,

Doesn't fix the spending problem. They'd just blow the money on more stupid shit and you know it. We need to eliminate corporate welfare, tax loopholes and start to control spending.

Instead, Obama whines about rich people and pretends that he's going to raise taxes.

Honestly, the only thing that needs any cuts right now is the Pentagon budget.

GOPers whine about closing down NPR (with its "whopping" 200 million dollar budget), they want to cut medicare, medicaid, low income housing programs, food stamps, birth control pharmacies, taxes on billionaires and corporations, etc etc.

Cutting these things means layoffs for people working under them, meaning their income is gone, meaning they cant consume American products, which means our economy shrinks.

Also, manufacturing=/=construction. you don't 'construct' a bus, you manufacture it. Obamas putting an emphasis on infrastructure development because it's one of the few bipartisan-supported ways that is actually proven to grow an economy and to give jobs to the struggling construction workers who were almost all entirely laid off after the housing bubble.

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-29 22:09

>Honestly, the only thing that needs any cuts right now is the Pentagon budget.

Sure. Talk Obama into it. Lets see how that goes.

>they want to cut medicare, medicaid, low income housing programs, food stamps, birth control pharmacies, taxes on billionaires and corporations,

Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money. People have an obligation to support themselves rather than being welfare queens.  Live within your means.

>manufacturing=/=construction
Whatever.

>Obamas putting an emphasis on infrastructure development

Kinda vague way of saying pork rewards for those that support him and his union thugs. Private sector jobs are needed, not more pork for votes. Keynesian economics isn't a good plan.

Name: Anonymous 2011-08-31 7:16

>People have an obligation to support themselves rather than being welfare queens.

General Electric is one of the biggest welfare queens in the country.  They got a billion dollar rebate on their taxes for making defective defense products and paying off congressmen.  You could round up all of the "welfare queens" in the country and their bill wouldn't amount to that.

Obama's job speech last night revolved around providing new jobs for the middle class.

Well how many middle class jobs can he create having people dig ditches and do highway construciton work?

Fucking moron needs to get off that construction soapbox.

At the federal level, corporate welfare is at least 3 times larger than individual welfare.

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-06 15:12

>>20
How so, when welfare spending in the sense means it is already more than 55% of Federal spending?  This is from the notorious right-wing kook source called Wikipedia, by the way.

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-07 8:35

>>21
Because the US has this brain-damaged way of distributing welfare, and a lot of it is not as regulated as it should be. Not to mention a lot of federal spending is also classified.

>>1
People need to stop pretending that Obama is a modern-day FDR saint. If he were, we'd already have a Works Progress Administration employing millions of people repairing and/or replacing dilapidated infrastructure that's closely approaching third-world quality.

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-14 10:39

Really?  You can back this claim up, right?  You can link to a page that shows what the US federal budget REALLY is, then?  Preferably a page that doesn't have goofy background images and a MIDI file of the Internationale churning away in the background, right?

I'm waiting.

Name: Anonymous 2011-09-15 12:14

Why is construction always the go to for "fixing unemployment"?
Leftists and unions pretend that there is some huge infrastructure crisis and that for some reason the private sector has completely ignored this enormous demand to fix the US's "third world" infrastructure.
More likely union members just want to stand around, being unproductive and receive money for it.
There seems to be this stupid idea that when people are hired by the government, wealth is created. People don't realise that you are simply taking wealth (and therefore jobs) from one area and moving them to another, so while you very well may create 40 000 jobs in one area and help it's economy (this number will be reported) 40 000 jobs are lost elsewhere and those economies are drained (this number won't be reported). ALWAYS look at both sides when commenting on economic issues.
Then again if you payed any attention to basic economic principles you would not be a leftist.

Another thing to consider is that the US barely has a manufacturing base. If it did, there wouldn't be bullshit trade agreements like NAFTA, CAFTA, etc. Also, in most areas of the world, Obama would be considered a moderate conservative. Actual American leftists like Kucinich and Sanders discuss the fallibility of trade agreements, and note that destroying your country's ability to manufacture goods helps to further put it into the shitter. A service sector economy alone is not going to help pay the debts that the country owes.

Hello, Internet user from 1997. My advice is don't vote for Bush, and make sure to sell all your tech stocks as soon as the year 2000 comes around.

State licensing needs to happen - the States that employ illegals have no licensing requirements.

Being former IBEW I can tell you that there is no one that wants to stand around and get paid - the day takes too long. If I work hard my day finishes fast.

Don't change these.
