If something belongs to you or at leased in your opinion it does then someone else comes along and tells you its theirs are you just going to say OK lets split it?
I don't see any countries declaring they found oil so they will be giving everyone else money.
It belongs to Japan due to the treaty long ago that was signed which was not abrogated by the Japanese losing WWII. It's just that China is buying time while bullying Japan into giving up. One day, the Chinese will land on the island and Japan will not go to war with China. As for the USA carrier fleet, China has a LOT of land-launched hypersonic ship-killing missiles as well as ballistic ship-killing missiles which have the range to hit a fleet approaching the islands. It also had purchased from Russia a bunch of submarine-launched hypersonic ship-killing missiles as well. That way, the subs can be 150 miles away and launch missiles. The hypersonic missile technology was developed to decrease the response time as well as the chance of destroying ALL the missiles from a concentrated salvo.
