plus4chan achieves its first epic thread

Normalfags + Cold hard reality = lulz. Or why I want old /n/ to return to 4chan.

As you may have noticed, I haven't been posting much, whether here or on plus4chan. It's because I lost a bit of trolling inspiration. For a while, the internet got a bit old, stale and boring to me.

But then this thread happened (and plus4chan's high point in its history (and its only high point)): http://plus4chan.org/boards/n/res/162338.html

Basically a dumb drunk Australian called Whitney Heuvel jumped over a bridge and LO AND BEHOLD died. Some clever person made that thread here on plus4chan and I see comments from people named "Carolyn", "Amy", "Taylor" and other normalfag names saying things like:

"[i]You guys are dickheads. This guy has a little sister and a family who are in mourning and you think its hilarious."

"Sorry about some of idiots here. I emailed the admin and asked him to delete the thread, so hopefully it will be gone soon" (LOL)

"[i]honestly, the people making such rude comments about this death are horrble people, and most likly have very low social skills."

My first thought was somebody is just copying and pasting those comments from elsewhere, like the comments section of YouTube.

As it turns out, if you google "Whitney Heuvel", plus4chan's thread is listed 4th or 5th. In other words, the real life friends and family of Whitney Heuvel are actually typing his name in google (falsely believing Whitney to be more important than he really is, hence the googling) and coming to this thread directly from google.

When they click on plus4chan's link, what do they get? The cold hard truth of reality.

The fact that it is actually possible that we, the non-friends and non-family of Whitney Heuvel, don't give a shit about his death, and in fact, may even joke about it!

My friends: These people I dub the "normalfags". It is they, who unwittingly, provide lulz for us.

Which brings me to old /n/, 4chan and the dream that I would dearly love to be reality.

On the one hand, you've got the veterans of the internet (such as myself) who visits places like 4chan. We are relatively educated and we have seen a lot. Nothing surprises us and we are aware of, and accept reality.

On the other hand, you've got the normalfags. They dwell on Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, search using Google and rarely go outside the "mainstream internet". These people are... well they're normal. They're normalfags. They have a good social life, they like shopping and consuming, they listen to mainstream music, they think companies have other obligations besides profit (they don't), they think there is a difference between the political candidates on election day (there isn't), they get their "information" from mainstream media, they are selfish and... when someone close to them dies, they expect you, a complete stranger to care about their loss (we don't).

These are the main characteristics of a normalfag.

How does old /n/ews fit in all this? /n/ is the portal to the normalfags and more importantly, from the normalfags to us.

I want a normalfag to click on /n/ and to get his or her incorrect perceptions of the world OBLITERATED.

The cold hard truth of reality will at once, fly straight into their faces, delivered by us, the messengers of unabashed and unrelentless truth.

The friends and family of Whitney Heuvel have already tasted one part of the cold hard truth, a cold hard truth that they find hard to accept. The cold hard truth of us not caring about the death of someone we don't know, the same way the friends and family of Whitnet Heuvel wouldn't care and probably would joke about some random nigger dying in Africa (or Australia for that matter).

We, veterans of the internet, deliver cold hard truthes to the normalfags. And what do we receive in return?

Well, if the normalfags can't handle the truth, then become butthurt about it. Genuine, authentic butthurt that we can extract lulz from.

But if the normalfags CAN handle the truth (about society, politics, economics etc)? Then they become more aware of the world and its variables. And they become more educated.

This is still a win for us because the last thing governments and corporations want is an educated, informed and aware populace.

We get lulz and we make the world a better place at the same time.

And people say internet trolls are bad!

I also have another thing to add. There is a person called Carolyn Heuvel trying to defend Whitney's online reputation in the main thread.

It makes logical sense. Out of the other quotes, her quote is the one that looks like it is being used to defend against attacks. And who but 4channers would attack bridge-jumping idiots openly? And that quote only appears in two places: plus4chan and the article.

I am almost 100% sure this quote appeared on plus4chan first, not the newspaper article.

So someone ED this shit because I fear plus4chan may not reach the same epic levels a second time.

Do you really have that much spare time? You just look like an idiot getting defensive over an issue that doesn't concern you. YES, that's right it DOESN'T concern you.

You talk about normalfags, but you seem to forget that addresses the majority of society. I think you need to take a good hard look at yourself. Yes, you'll have some people who think you're funny. But the cold hard facts are you more than likely have no friends. People who laugh online, are too spineless to interact NORMALLY within society. I come to this assumption because as a normalfag myself, I wouldn't be caught dead in public with such a cold hearted, defensive, pig headed nerd as yourself. So i challenge you. Achieve some real goals, you know the ones that lie beyond the internet. Don't go name bashing, believe it or not, you don't have that right.

What really has no logic throughout your little article, is why you've attacked his family. When you die, lets see how you like it when your family is verbally attacked. I know you're going to reply with some witty piece of shit. But frankly, it wont mean anything. It will be read a couple of times and in a year forgotten about.

Yes, your online little accomplishments will be forgotten about. Whitney on the other hand, his accomplishments and his life will never be forgotten.
