Is there any nationalism left in Europe? Or do they all want to abandon their national traditions, become just like Americans, and have their nations controlled not by the people but by business?

Mrs. Thatcher summed it up quite well at the time she denationalised all of the major British industries:
"Socialists cry "Power to the people", and raise the clenched fist as they say it. We all know what they really mean—power over people, power to the State."
She couldn't be more right. Socialist and Nationalist policies only made their way into Europe after the Second World War as a new type of politics which was intended to bring equality . The problem being that it didn't work, instead just making us poorer and causing Trade Unions to have far too much power.
'American Economics' existed in Europe long before America existed, let's not forget that, and besides we still have free health care. :)
