Que viva Finland, home of Sibelius, Saarinen, and rapakivi granite. In Finland, people flog themselves with birch twigs in broiling-hot saunas, then leap into water flowing out of glaciers. Finns beat Stalin's USSR--they were not overrun and pillaged, which is impressive as hell, considering the late-WWII abilities of the Red Army. They speak a language unrelated to any other in Europe except for Estonian and Hungarian.

Korean and Japanese are supposedly considered language isolates. Also, yes, Hungarian and Finnish are distantantly related but so is English and Persian.

Still, based on language similarities, there are theories that the Uralic people (all of the original population of northern Eurasia), the Japanese, Korean, Mongolians, Khazakhs and Turkish came from a single population somewhere in western China or somewhere. Of course all the genes are so mixed these days that it is impossible to confirm anything but it still is likely.

Hungarians resemble Arabic people moreso than they resemble Chinese and Mongoloids.
While their language is Finno-Ugric, the Hungarians anthropologically resemble Central Asians.
Also Gypsies came from Turkey during their 170 year occupation of parts of Hungary and many of the Gypsies as well as Turks could've married into Hungarian families during then. So some Hungarians might look Arabic or Turkic-like.
Some of them have olive skin, appear European but have green/greenish brown eyes as if they were that girl on the Nat Geo Mag cover of the USSR/Afghanistan War.
