ATLANTA (CBS 46 News) -- The Atlanta man police say attacked and raped his ex-girlfriend's daughter confessed to a part of the crime during his first court appearance today.
Georgia Frazier told the judge he didn't need an attorney, and instead wanted to represent himself.
Police say Frazier broke into the victim's home and went into her bedroom looking for money, beat her, raped her and then forced her to drive to an ATM and withdraw money.
Today Frazier denied the rape, but admitted to the robbery.
He told authorities "Like I told him yesterday, you know I did all this just to get me some money just to get high.....you know, off drugs".
Frazier was recently fired from the Centennial Place Family YMCA in Atlanta where he was a substitute teacher.
Now the community is asking why he was ever hired. Police say Frazier has had prior arrests, including aggravated battery and drug charges.
The YMCA says those arrests did not show up in a background check.
