The Saudi fatwa reads as follows: "The Permanent Council for Scholarly Research and Religious Legal Judgment has studied the queries some individuals brought before the Chief Mufti… concerning the topic of the construction of houses of worship for unbelievers in the Arabian Peninsula, such as the construction of churches for Christians and houses of worship for Jews and for other unbelievers and [the question of] the owners of companies or organizations allotting a fixed place for their unbelieving workers to perform the rites of unbelief.

"After considering the queries the Council answered as follows:

"All religions other than Islam are heresy and error. Any place designated for worship other than [that of] Islam is a place of heresy and error, for it is forbidden to worship Allah in any way other than the way that Allah has prescribed in Islam. The law of Islam (shari'a) is the final and definitive religious law. It applies to all men and jinns and abrogates all that came before it. This is a matter about which there is consensus.

i don't understand why people are concerned over this.  pretty much every follower of every religion in the world believes that all other followers of all other religions are wrong in some way or another.  that's why there's so many religions in the first place.  just because some mufti actually comes out and says so doesn't really mean anything.

You miss the point entirely then, do we allow Mosques in western countries? Obviously yes, but this is not just some mufti but the guys who make the law over there. The point is they will never co-exhist with the rest of the world They have not for centuried before and they will not for centuries to come. This is not a question of beliefs one holds in their hearts but a question of impossing your beliefs on everyone else and "by the sword" if necessary.

well, then, it's the government of one country exercising their right to set laws in said country.  just because those laws contradict the laws in your own country is no reason to complain.  unless they're refusing to let Christians (or Jews, or whatever) leave to somewhere with more Christian (or Jew, or whatever)-friendly laws, or forcing them to relinquish their religion, i don't see the problem.

Not all muslims follow the "Permanent Council for Scholarly Research and Religious Legal Judgment", and not all countries with an islamic majority implement such laws.  it's hardly representative of islamic law, just one possible interpretation of it.

Why many do not accept Islam:

-It is a late religion.  7 AD.  That's not even ancient.
-It is based on Christianity and Judaism, yet says they were both wrong.  Why would God allow two major religions to exist based on being wrong?  If they believe in the same God, and have been before Islam came into existence, why would are they suddenly wrong when Islam comes into existence?   
-It excludes anyone who does not follow the five pillars.  Don't pray five times a day?  You're going to hell.
-It's just another monotheistic religion meant to destroy warring pagan tribes of its time.  Same with most monotheistic religions.
-It offers little philosophical insight aside from "God is almighty"
-Why would God allow a religion to kill innocents and fight amongst itself so often?  Why would God allow people to misenterpret so much that they kill each other over it?
-If God cannot be wrong, how can he allow Muslims to interpret his word completely wrong, or Christians and Jews to interpret it completely wrong?  If everything in the Bible was wrong, then isn't God fallible?

Why would God allow two major religions to exist based on being wrong?

Allah is merciful, praise Allah! Now excuse me while I go blow up heathens in the name of Allah. JIHAD! JIHAD! JIHAD!

Well you got most of those right. They believe our religions are wrong because we don't recognize Mohammed.

It's kinda like how the jews are wrong because they don't recognize christ or how Christians are wrong because they believe that christ is the messiah.

God doesn't interfere in human affairs anymore. At the end of the old testament, god went on a big rant about he hated man kind and wanted to destroy the world (Yet again) because he wished he never created man. Even named all of the known nations of the world as targets of his wrath.

That is why god allows people to kill one another. Because if he has to get involved, the entire world goes in a blink. At least this way, it's not boring.

The good Muslims are against forced conversions and see Christianity and Judaism as valid.  The bad ones don't, which we see more of.

That's all fine and dandy, then why don't the 95% of "good muslims" do something about the 5% nut jobs? This is why all muslims are percieved as implicitly supporting the nut jobs by their continued silence.

You see the opposite in every other community just not Islam, have some nut shooting up abortion doctors, sure enough there are more than enough Christians who condem it.

Jewish settlers on the rampage, guess who goes and stops them? That's right the Israeli army.

Muslims rioting and burning shit down, blowing shit up, killing whoever they feel like, what do we hear? the sound of chirping crickets!

But I guess you can't put all the blame on the moderates since Islam is more like a cult than a religion, what religion other than Islam has the death penalty for even trying to leave it? A religion so insecure in itself that it forbids even reading about other religions or ideas and so threated that it cannot even allow adherents of other religions to practice their faith there, sounds pretty cult like to me.

The "moderates" need to step up to the plate or their silence can only be taken as support.

there's plenty of muslims who oppose extremists.  i've been to plenty of speeches at the local mosques, and none of them have ever supported such actions, and are quick to speak against terrorists in the news.  however, many muslims don't attend the mosque regularly, whether due to ignorance, laziness or pressure from society.

the 'continued silence' you continue to hear is more due to where you're listening than due to lack of voices.
