SAITAMA — The Saitama branch of the Saitama District Court sentenced a 39-year-old woman on Friday to four years in prison for strangling to death her 7-year-old son in 2004 after a quarrel over his reluctance to go to a cram school.
v14gRa
Judge Kenji Katoya, explaining the light term, said that Chiaki Onodera turned herself in after the crime and that she should get out of prison early as she still has an 11-year-old daughter. The woman strangled her son Sasuke, a second-grade student in elementary school, with a belt at their home after getting upset because he told her he did not want to go to the cram school on April 6, 2004, according to the ruling.
